It is so hard when our kids don’t see how amazing they are!

It is!! He is going for a job interview tomorrow morning and is climbing the walls with nerves already.

How old is he? My youngest was like this until about 19 or so. Then it started to switch. He is almost 21 and has really come into his own. It took some time and I know he still has self doubt but it is so much better now!

Why is my son so self-conscious? He is smart, kind, good-looking and absolutely awesome!!

He probably doesn't have the confidence yet, but once he realizes his value, he will be ok. It took me many years to develop confidence.


I also think modern society doesn't speak highly of males and their contributions to society. Young men should have a support system as well, to help him in his journey to manhood.

Thanks for replying. He is 21 and just like me when I was his age (very shy and unsure of myself). The pandemic did not help either.

If the interview is successful, he will be back in the game and things will improve for him!!

About the same with my oldest. Didn't start to gain confidence until she wanted to move out, and realized she had to pay the bills and get things done! I see the changes happening, and it's comforting to see it's finally 'making sense'.
