What are you watching?

Two and a half movies on Prime:

A first viewing of the excellent remake of The Running Man. While I treasure the original Arnie flick, this is a non-stop adrenaline rush with a heart, and the advantage of wide-open locations, rather than the original's sound stage with crazy costumes shtick.

This worked on every level - a remake that does the original proud.

Next a second viewing of the awesome Olga Kurylenko as The Courier. She's the best female action star on the screen today, and she brings heart to her roles. A must watch.

Now I'm almost halfway through a second watching of Mercury Rising - back when Bruce Willis was in as a driving force through the whole movie. Don't remember much, but so far, so good.

I was watching a Netflix documentary about the flds. Which was cheery

It's good so far, only one ep in, infuriating and fascinating as always
If you're not yelling at the TV, then cheering on the survivors for getting out and reporting the predators, is it even worth watching? (And, now I'm leaving before I get written up for disrupting another thread.)

3 movies on Prime:

Trigger Point starring Barry Pepper, a reasonably solid thriller/action flick with perhaps too many twisting loyalties and a roundabout plot, but still enjoyable. Always liked Barry Pepper since his bible-quoting sniper in Saving Private Ryan.

Next The Ballad of Lefty Brown starring Bill Pullman. Possibly the best 'thoughtful' western since Open Range. Pullman, known for his urbane persona pulls off a terrific, mannered performance that rings true at every turn The motivations for Tommy Flanagan got dodgy towards the end, but a great, great movie.

Next a rewatching of 1971s Red Sun with Charles Bronson and Toshiro Mifune a great action adventure film that shows great restraint with all the tropes you might expect from a Samurai/outlaw flick. What there is represents the two characters getting an understanding of each other. Great fun throughout - and an Ursula Andress tittie scene!
