What are you watching?

A couple of movies:

A second watch of Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner, who is totally believable as a grieving wife and mother who spends 5 years turning herself into an expert shooter, fighter, and general killing machine before exacting her vengeance. It's an awesome thrill ride.

Next, a third watch of the most excellent Roland Emmerich epic Midway. I knew this engagement and its history inside and out, and this is remarkably accurate, but energizing, with top-of-the-line CGI and great action. The attention to detail is astounding.

Finishing up the last few episodes of S2 Cross on Prime - great show, and the second season does not disappoint.

They finally released Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.

This was something of a letdown. Literally the first hour is more of recap show, with no 'off' button. Once the action started, it was more suspense than action. Suspense is good, but it's action that I want from this franchise, and what there was was exciting and well done as usual, there just wasn't enough - not nearly as much as Dead Reckoning.

I'll probably treat this like I do Titanic now (seen the whole movie once, maybe twice - seen the end dozens of times)- skip everything until the ship starts sinking.

Now I'm halfway through Crime 101, a reference to the CA freeway, not a school course, starring Chris Hemsworth, complemented by Halle Berry, Monica Barbaro, and a tired and disinterested Nick Nolte (just retire, already) and overrated, unappealing actor Mark Ruffalo (just go away, already). It's building in an interesting suspenseful way - I'll see how it turns out later.

I’m at my eldercare and babysitting job. The elder is forcing me to watch Fox News. Bleh. Super bleh, in fact.
