I Heard Her Call My Name
by Lucy Sante
After a lifetime of denial, a prolific author and professor accepts her transgender self and comes out to the world around her.

Read a review of this book in the Guardian and have just started it.

Visual thinking by Temple Grandin. It’s fascinating.
First time I heard of Temple Grandin was when I picked a movie at random to fill a lazy afternoon. The movie is called Temple Grandin with Claire Daines playing Temple. I found it delightfully fascinating. I had no idea that one woman had such an impact on the entire cattle industry in America. I'll put Visual Thinking on my TBR. Thank you.

I met her at a trade event years ago, met probably isn’t the word, more encountered. She was kind and helpful.
I am listening to the audio book version and she does the introduction, it’s been decades but I recognized her voice.
Another book of hers that I would recommend is “ the unwritten rules of social relationships.” A book I recommend to anyone on the spectrum or feeling socially awkward.

I really liked that film too. Claire Danes’ partner, Hugh Dancy, also played an autistic person in a movie the year before, “Adam”. I have no expertise in autism, so I may be wrong, but I thought they both played their respective roles superbly

I finished The Curse of Penryth Hall by Jess Armstrong last night. Starting The Phoenix Crown by Kate Quinn and Janie Chang tonight.

The Prince - Niccolò Machiavelli

I'm not nearly as well versed in history as pretty much everyone in my social circle (it seems I have a "type" in history buffs and those who study the classics...)
I've got some catching up to do.

Unsettled - just finished two and haven't landed on my next read.

Trying the following two:
The Twyford Code by Janice Hallett
Road of Bones by Christopher Golden
