What Book Are You Currently Reading?

A reference book for writing - The Negative Trait Thesaurus: A Writer's Guide to Character Flaws by Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi
 
I just started Master and Commander by Patrick O’Brian but I'm not sure it is my cup of tea. Has anyone read it?
 
It’s called Head Over Heels about a former elite gymnast falling in love with her physical therapist.

They are a series of books. They used 2 or 3 to combine to make the movie out of. As to the series, they are an acquired taste, and you either love love LOVE the mood of each book, or reading one or two is more than enough. I read about 8 of them and enjoyed them.

Thanks. I have started the first one but it isn't a smooth read so far. The writing style doesn't seem to click. It feels unnecessarily wordy but it could just be me.
 
Red Sky Mourning by Jack Carr. The entire series is excellent.

Next up is probably the new Nick Petrie book.

The "unnecessarily wordy" part is the style that polarizes people reading the books...I struggled initially, then noticed that the actions sequences were fairly vivid in my mind as a result...but that's where people either love or dislike the books...

Same could be said of Dickens or Scott. I think it’s worth trying to get through one book. If you still do t like then you know it’s not for you.
