Try H.K. Christie. The Martina Monroe series gets my mind reset. Easy reads, light, and sometimes funny.

I started Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez-truly light but with good reviews

The first Martina Monroe book is dowoaded. This will be next.

A murder trial? Light reading?
I lived in the area when he was murdered.

But, I added it.

It’s funny as hell. And it’s all true.
Usually I prefer more dense reading but this one was a needed distraction after my last book.

It is. And if you get the chance to visit Savannah, you can do a tour of the locations in the book, including the diner. You used to be able to attend the drag show with (forgot his/her name) but I belive she has passed away.

I read  Blindness in 2017. That was a very tough read.

Chablis, she played herself wonderfully in the film.

There’s even more weird and quirky stuff in the book that couldn’t translate well to the movie so it wasn’t included.

I just finished The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, and started the classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, after finishing a book with my kids based on the classic, called Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan.

Notes On An Execution by Danya Kukafka

A great thriller that tracks a serial killer. Mainly drawn from the perspective of three women (mother, sister and homicide detective). Not a downer as I expected, as the women are so fully rendered. A brilliant, perceptive and beautifully written story. Notwithstanding its Edgar Award, I was nonetheless surprised how the characters lived on even after finishing the book.
