What Book Are You Currently Reading?

How the Light Gets In, no. 9 in the excellent Chief Inspector Gamache detective series by Louis Penny.

Reading/listening to a few right now

Listening to Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne, narrated by Tim Curry.

Started listening to The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan with my kids.

Reading The Waste Lands by Stephen King

I am simultaneously reading maybe 10 books? But the one I am trying to focus on is that Pratchett/Gaiman classic, Good Omens.

How are you liking?

I've not read anything by him, but this looked like a possibly entry point to weird fiction. Because, murder mystery. :cattail:

Sorry for the late reply.

So, "The City and The City".

How is it? I am almost ashamed to say, that I have had this book on the shelf for a couple of years (!), before actually sitting down and giving it a real chance, I was sort of convinced that I would dislike it.. Without any reasons to believe so.

It is clear from the get go that the universe China Miéville has built is solid!! Everything single little detail, the flow of things.. there simply are no real plot holes.
Be it the language, the history, the geography.. the murder mystery. He has thought it through.

I like it, I really do. It is captivating, it is noir, dark, funny, playful.. And it will make you wonder.

This is also my entry point to weird fiction, and I think I am liking it very much!

This sounds interesting and a bit different from what I'm usually reading, so I'll add it to my to read list. I've also found out when googling it that it have been turned into a tv-serie.

Currently I'm reading:

Elly Griffiths - The Stranger Diaries
Jussi Adler-Olsen - Locked In: Department Q, Book 10
