I’m getting ready to read RUN ROSE RUN by Dolly Parton and James Patterson.

It was well written with a great flow and sad. It was about a little girl who was left in the marshes in the 1950's and basically raised herself with the help of the black community even though she was white. She was considered by the locals to be illiterate marsh trash to be avoided and was disparagingly called the "Marsh Girl". The story takes place in the coastal marshes along the North Carolina coast. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it.
