What did you learn today?

That I will ALWAYS drink a glass of water between every glass of alcohol...
That lanndcruisergal (if that's her in her avatar) have a yummy spankable ass :D

That no matter how drunk I am, if someone offers me something that's WAY different from what I've been drinking I WILL NOT DRINK IT!

I learned that, cheesy as it sounds, love really does mean more to me than anything else, and that I'm willing to do damn near anything within my power to make sure I don't lose it.

On a more mundane note, I learned how to make a good photograph better by creative use of the zoom, soft focus, light/dark vignette, black and white, and sepia buttons.

I love digital photography.

Today I learned that I don't like thorns and that I don't care for certain personality disordered individuals.

I learned today that I am more "vanilla" than I like to admit to.... I thought I could be what my SO needed but I think I have alot to learn...

Oh, and also that when two girls from your work decide to quit with no notice, it makes for a very stressed out boss, a very confusing day, and several unhappy customers who have to wait longer than they should have.

Well, technically I already knew that, but since it actually HAPPENED today... I'm considering it a lesson learned, instead of a lesson assumed. :p

A lesson RElearned. lol LIke my lesson about Chuck E Cheeses.

Great idea for a thread!

Today I learned that someone I know named their child "Malachi" - and although I know it's a Biblical name, in my mind it will forever be associated with the movie "Children of the Corn" and creep me out to no end.

I also learned that watching little girls (ages 5, 6, and 8) dress up and do a dance show for me is one of life's greatest joys.

I also learned that giving people time to deal with something is neither fatal nor the end of the world. I tend to decide and deal with things rather quickly and get impatient with others when they don't do the same. But taking time can sometimes be a good thing.

LOL I'm totally with you on that. I'm a Christian, I like biblical names, but I hate that one. It's creepy. *shudders*

I learned that you can not make someone understand your point of view unless they actually want to hear it.

That when my Dominant called me 'his best friend', it not only shocked me deeply but made me cry.
Guess I just never thought about it before

We all have a lot to learn. You should only try to be what you are comfortable with being.

Today I learned that college bookstores take some sort of perverse glee in telling you the used price for a book, that they don't have used.

Bastards.

I learned last night that cuban cigars really are that much better.

and today I learned that a well timed withering glance is a powerful tool to get certain people to stop talking too much.

I learned today that I have relearned how to control classes.
I had a nasty day on my first day on supply teaching after my grade 2s (whom I had trained) because I couldn't control them.

I had difficult classes today and controlled them all.
Including two classes which had warnings attached - when someone comes to you and says "You're about to earn your money," you know it'll be trouble. Fortunately, one of the boys was misbehaving and I yanked him out into the hall and told him off. They didn't want to get that so they behaved.
:D
I actually got to use the line,"Do you think this is funny? No? Then wipe that smirk off your face!" :nana:
I hardly ever get to use that.

Edited for clarification: I didn't physically yank him.
