Thank you both. I talked with them, and while it was tempting, it just wasn’t the right situation. Also, the person I’d be working with seemed like kind of a dick. It did make me appreciate my current job even more, though. I was annoyingly chipper and social at a meeting today.

Someone at work returning to work 3 days a week after beating the crap out of breast cancer. I’ve missed her a lot even though we don’t work together so much and really only did work closely together only for a few months last year. She’s just such a ray of positivity and the epitome of steadfastness in the best way possible. I’ve missed her so much and tomorrow we’ll have lunch together!!! 😍
 
A neighbour being very kind and using his snow blower on my driveway. Home made muffins already delivered in gratitude.

I saw a very stupid and greedy pigeon trying, and failing, to gobble an entire chestnut.
 
I had a couple of students doing a cadetship over summer. They just finished up and they both sent me lovely emails about how much they'd enjoyed it.

...and also I'm just now noticing how much that was taking out of me. I liked having them here, they did great work, but it's the kind of thing that drains my batteries.

Yes, that is a lynx, second largest wild cat in North America after the cougar. Yes he could have shot it, but ammo is expensive and the cat looks genuinely sorry. Evidently they caged him, released in in the bush and let him keep the chickens.
 
Finished drafting the last chapter of my current series - I've been working on this one since 2017 and it's taken so much longer than I was expecting, I got stuck for a year, but now it just needs beta-ing and then it's done!

A small child I was watching calling his older sibling a penis. I laughed soooo hard at that one I couldn’t even find the breath to chastise him.
 
Yesterday was a dreary rainy day but today was so beautiful! Sun in the bluer than blue sky and still a little nip in the air.. couldn’t help but smile.
