What made you smile or laugh today? Part IV

Deciphering TPH's oblique post. Most of the time I'm lost in space. It's the little things...

My new kitchen ceiling light. Installing it alone was no fun at all due to the size of 4ft x 2ft. I wish it would be winter so I would have a reason to turn it on more often.

Watching the neighbor kids do a backyard egg hunt. :)

And, annoying my family by announcing today as my annual Zombie movie marathon. #ZombieJesusDay

Hearing this song live yesterday.

First concert for me in... 18 months? Something like that.

Must be a good feeling!

We talk about this a bit here, because husband, good friend and one of my daughters love going to concerts, so it is something they really miss.
While I like live music in smaller settings, like club gigs or in ”sit down settings” at least, I’m not really fond of the bigger arena concerts they like.

Some of the artists they had planned to go watch, transfomed the tickets to links to digital performances and there has been jokes about finally not needing wild horses to get me to come listen to music with them.

Still hope things will go back to normal, for all you lovers of live music!

It's not the same as a live performance, but I hope bands keep doing streamed concerts after lockdowns are over. A lot of the bands I listen to are European or US acts who will never ever tour Australia, and streaming over the last year is the closest I've been to seeing them live.

The annual comedy festival is on here. Last year was a flop for obvious reasons, but this year everything is selling out. We got out to a show last night, bumped into a couple of friends, got street food afterwards. I cried a little bit afterwards because it's the first time since 2019 that Melbourne's felt properly alive to me (we had a smoke crisis in summer 2019-20 and then went straight from that to covid lockdown), and I hadn't realised how much I'd missed it.

Still taking it slowly and carefully, until the vaccination program here is further along, but it felt like a big step.

Watching videos of this year's Eurovision entrants. There are a few satisfyingly bizarre groups that I'm looking forward to (looking at you, Iceland).

Yes, I hope so too.
I have a friend who tours a bit with his band and the way it works these days with streaming, they have fans all over the world. They are very much in a special niche though, so it’s not a big enough following to quit their day jobs or visit a lot of places or smaller places while on tour. For people like that and their fans, I’m sure streaming could be a great complement.

Yes, I remember... I hope thing will keep improving.

Like the lyrics to Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, the other reindeer wouldn’t let Rudolph join in their reindeer games.

I do love me some Ben Affleck, though.
