When I Was a Kid....

I thought of something to post here while I was over at my moms, but now I forget what it was.:rolleyes::(

Which leads me to this, WIWAK I had a much better memory!

WIWAK I looked forward to all of the holidays much more than I do now. Now it is mostly just Christmas that I look forward to.

WIWAK we judged other kid's status on the number of marbles they owned before the marble shoot......compared to how many they owned afterwards. Lots of marbles changed hands in those days.

WIWAK we made crank calls on Saturday nights and no one could tell where they came from!

WIWAK, we didn't wake up every morning and check our cell phone texts/facebook/twitter messages. We didn't have computers. They were "science fiction."

WIWAK I had to ask my parents if I could use the phone

WIWAOlderK
Guys would always hang up when my Dad picked up the home phone
This drove him  so we used to bolt to the phone when it rang :D

WIWAK I thought we would have flying cars and hover boards by now...

when i was a kid, i wanted a set of drums so that i could be like sheila e. she was the first woman i knew to play drums and she still is bad ass.

WIWA Older Kid (18) - drinking age was 18 and the bars in my hometown closed at 4AM. They still do.

WIWAK... We only had rocks to play with and we liked it.
WIWAK... Porn was staying up past 11:00 p.m. to see a movie like Porky's where you might get to see... wait for it... boobs!

*
WIWAK my sis and I would go to St. Andrew's Summer Camp and climb this huge fig tree and eat the figs while we sat in the branches.
WIWAK I saw two camp counselors kissing and then another kid told me that's what's called a sloppy kiss (I can still remember the kiss :) ).

WIWAK i got kicked out of the swimming pool for peeing in the pool. They called my mom to come get me and she told them she figured all little boys peed in the pool. They replied, "Not from the high diving board, they dont!"

WIWAK - we rode bikes without helmets, drank from garden hoses, didn't have antibacterial anything and lived to tell about it...;)

ROFL...:D

WIWAK I listened to Smurfs and Chipmunk covers of songs...Kidbop before there was Kidz Bop...:)

Wiwak, the boys in the neighborhood always wanted me to play flag football with them. I thought it was because I didn't throw or catch a football like a girl. It wasn't until later I realized it was because they were feeling me up.

Wiwak, kids still had imaginations and could find amusement in nearly anything they found. Sadly that gift has been lost to video games, computers and ipads that think for you.

WIWAK the guys would line up outside the girls cycle stand just to see the girls panties as the cycled out of school .

WIWAK it was not done for bra straps showing out of our dresses .

Nice. It's good to know some things stay in your memory forever, right?:D

When I was a kid I used to sing "Smooth Operator" and "Lady In Red" LOL

Okay, so now I know how old I am. WIWAK...the first song I ever remember singing along with on the old AM radio was "My Baby Does the Hanky Panky." Sort of suits me, dontcha' think?;)

Wish I was a kid again.......This place has given me a new desire to play flag football again.
