When I Was a Kid....

WIWAK we would spend entire days like this at the pool, then wander home about now for dinner.

WIWAK I would have thought nothing of drinking out of the outside spigot on a hot day

when i was a kid differences were settled with a round of rock, paper, scissors.

WIWAK everyone had to be home before the 9:00 pm whistle quit blowing...heaven help your ass if you were late.....

WIWAK I spent the majority of my time outdoors, playing baseball in the streets, having pinecone wars between neighbors yards, catching lightning bugs to put in jars, creating doodle bug farms in a wheel barrow, dressing up for Go Texan day, riding my bike everywhere, practicing in my mother's high heels, chasing the boys, laughing a lot. :)

WIWAK my grandmother's house was a second home and spent almost half my childhood there. Not because I was a troublemaker and kicked out of the house by my folks, either.

WIWAK I made the fanciest looking mud pies on the seawall at the beach. :cattail:

WIWAK.. the summer I was four years old... I played in the sun so much my blonde hair was bleached white. Ever since then it just kept getting darker.

WIWAK my grandfather was a barber and buzzed my hair and swore I would never get it cut that short when I had a say in it. Ten years, ago, I started getting it cut really short, again.

Used to walk the Riverwalk with my Grampa, back and forth, holding his huge hand (thought of this last night and cried)

WIWAK the teachers were allowed to paddle you if you misbehaved and when you got home and Mom and Dad found out you got paddled again.
