I have been mistaken for a woman often here - the DMS I get are pretty rubbish.

The cost of dealing with creepy PMs is outweighed by the benefit of not having to make the first move.

Though I don’t mind shooting down creepy PM-sliders in mean ways; others may feel differently. But if you’re a man waiting for women to slide into your PMs, it may be a long wait without actively inviting them.
