Why should candidates be expected to release their tax returns?

Blah blah. I understand it quite well, I did reread your post but if people aren't starting from the same position it's not a real meritocracy. From there we're dealing with nuance.

Bullshit, all of those guys were as good or better than Brock at everything.

I'm not big enough on basketball to delve into stats. Which one of them is better than Kobe and Lebron or Jordon? Because if the answer is anything shy of Shaq was the best of all time your argument is at least shakey.

Completely wrong.

Horsehit, let's see them perform the same feats of athleticism!

I'm not talking about playing basketball you stupid nigger, I'm talking about athletic ability.

Doing MCMAP gives you little to no insight into discussing the athletic ability and superior genetics of different individuals.

Bitch, watching WCW and WWF is entertainment!

Watching Brock is not watching wrestling or entertainment, nor is it entertaining. ("Here Comes The Pain" refers to the waste of space & time.) STILL mad they had him hug Hogan till he tapped right before that Summerslam with the Rock-Brock cover.

Regardless, Benoit was better & more entertaining than Brock (too bad not what people remember him for now), & Angle's career was like Hogan's both ways: Would be one pf people recalled for decade if not for seemingly not knowing when to "hang it up".

Brock is good, he's just not the best there ever was or anything. Benoit kinda sucked on the mike, if he could have learned to promo he would have had Kurt Angle's career.

Kurt is amazing all around other than like Ric Flair he clearly wants to die in his boots.

Not the best there was?! Not even close! Want proof?! 4 words: Shooting Star At Wrestlemania.

Benoit didn't need the mic, b/c his matches (against Angle for 1, Mania against DX, & the following Backlash) proved whatever he said to be honest & not something a TV writer (like Prinze Jr.) told him to say.

Vs Kurt Angle. 2004 if I recall. I was in Iraq when I saw that match and I thought he was paralyzed. But man did Jericho and HBK bring down the house that night.

Benoit DID need the mike and that's why it took him so long to get to be Heavyweight Champ and he got to hold it once. There are tons of wrestlers with tons of talent who hit that same brick wall. Shelton Benjamin may not be the best technical wrestler (though he is damn good) but high flyer? AMAZING. On the mike though the kid was worthless.

Benjamin was "AMAZING"?! Hardly. He & Haas needed either to be teamed with/named after Angle, & then to be introduced as the "World's Greatest Tag Tam", which was a HUGE disappointment to any fans seing them for the first time. Chavo & Eddie were Guerreros in & out of the ring, but Shelton & Charlie were each passable at best.

Benoit, on the other hand, was bad on the mic, but AMAZING in the ring!!

Bullshit. Benjamin was a damn good athlete far better than Chavo and a case could be made vs Eddie but Eddie is one of the all time greats. A genuine legend. Neither Shelton nor Charlie had the first hint of mike skill though.

Benoit was undoubtedly one of the best in ring workers the world has ever known. It's a shame nobody could ever figure out a way to really get past his utter lack of charisma and mike skills because it's kinda sad that the Miz who is AT BEST slightly above average in the ring and all things said generally mediocre on the mike (but he does have his moments) is all around more successfful than Benoit would have been had he lived to see 100.

People that live in my area are better than Chavo (being a producer is only reason he is involved on "Lucha Underground" besides the fact have the guys are living off family names).

I agree Shelton, Charlie, & Benoit lack(ed) mic skill... Whereas Miz has Mike skill & mic skill, but 0 ring skill. (People forget he did "Tough Enough" & lost, but he gets to be there anyway?!)

I don't know where you live but yeah Chavo got in because of Uncle Eddie for the most part.

If you look at Tough Enough over the years and the Diva Search the winners tend to have shit careers at best but you almost always snag one person from the bunch to turns out decent. I don't HATE Miz, I just don't think his ring work is good at all.

I wish John Morrison had gotten a better push than he did but he kinda showed up at the wrong time with as I recall a fairly stackked upper card and a John Cena who had a diamond plated shovel for burying talents.

Morrison/Hennigan did fine after that... He is the face of Underground, which has also included Chavo, Rey, & Del Rio for a stretch.

Last I checked, WWE isn't doing anything with talent who actually have talent & not offices in CT.

Underground<TNA<WWE. Hell NXT probably has more viewers than Underground but I'd have to check, so being the top of the also rans isn't much. Morrison deserves more than that.

As for WWE the last year or so they've made a HUGE push to bring up the new talent and have even given serious respect to the women's division and are currently working to make the tag team division viable. We're not quite there yet but it wouldn't shock me at all if by 2017 we have the best tag team hunt since the late 90's when you had Outlaws, APA, Hardies, E&C, Too Cool, TnA and a few other groups that would pop in and out from time to time. It's really facinating to watch just from a structural point of view. 2015 John Cena wasn't even in the title hunt, he was the United States champion putting over guys like Rusev, Cesaro and Kevin Owens.

MORNING

Ouch je'taime, so bright you hurt my eyes.

Your eyes needed a change if they were seeing the Women's Division as getting respect (outside of the one still-working Bella getting their own series), Owens & those other guys you mentioned as talented, & the tag division as anything more than a way to bring guys up from HHH's NXT before they were ready to be individual stars (no ring talent, let alone mic ability).

The women closed out the show last week and got a submission match at the next ppv. For the last six months they've routinely gotten two separate matches and story lines that go beyond who stole who's man. The ARE getting respect, we can debate on if they deserve as much as they are getting or if HHH is pushing a lot of people who don't deserve it but not that they haven't gotten the biggest pushes of any women not named Trish/Lita/Chyna.

The ____ (?) are getting respect, deserved or not... (Sites I've read are debating whether Cody asked for his release or was tossed on his talentless rear.)

Also, there is no doubt HHH is pushing people who don't deserve it. That's one reason I stopped watching when "Raw" went to 3 hours, more when a show I already watch was scheduled against it, & more when "NXT" seemed to become the abbreviation by another man (also known by 3 letters) for the show everyone on its roster would be appearing on.

Regardless, you know equally-little on seemingly everything, so can we get this thread back on the title topic?!

I don't know why Cody was dropped. He and the Ascension were actually working out better than anything else he had going for him. But yeah there is debate.

Raw should never have gone three hours, I agree with that whole heartedly but the recent NXT push has not been for even a full quarter of that change yet.

I suppose, if you are bored you can try to rereail this thread. no need to be rude.

I think I saw the Ascension once, & that was twice too many. Also, the fact he was not truly fired when they let him & his brother go (they'd said it was) around his real-life wedding was one of many mistakes... Including "the NXT push". (If anything, I thought NXT & other developmental areas were to see if/when people were ready to get on TV, but when HHH got the real "Authority", he made RAW into NXT.

There is a reason for me to write what I wrote, & it's called the Golden Rule, AKA Returning The Favor.

The Ascension had/have a good look and persona. They need work in ring but hey there is always room for a pair like that to job around to tag teams.

NXT is no longer a developmental area, it makes me wonder what they are using for actual development these days. Developmental talent don't get television appearances and their histories are ignored. NXT is today more like what Smackdown used to be. Sure it was CALLED a second Brand/Co A show but everybody knew the truth. Smackdown was the B show and God only knows why Taker was kind enough to stay over there virtually the entire time of the split. And it's not a coincidence that John Cena got brought over as soon as he blew up.

Smackdown was a great show, especially when they realized what it was doing for Hispanics (for obvious reasons, when it had Rey & Melina). John was brought over b/c he was blowing up & Vince wanted his recorded voice calling Raw the flagship show not to be wrong.

If Taker were being kind, he'd stay at home (especially with laughable streak over) & let Michelle come back on the traveling roster.

An argument could be made that Smackdown had better wrestling even after you remember that Smackdown wasn't live specifically so they could edit out the mistakes of people who really weren't that good. I'll grant you that Smackdown was arguably kinder to Hispanics. (Not sure why Eddie doesn't count and didn't Rey spend more time on Raw anyway?) But yes, John was moved over to the Flagship the moment he became the Company Man.

The streak that in all likelihood will never be broken you mean? Totally laughable. Sure it had some real stinker matches along the way but it had some genuine classics. Taker vs Angle reminded us that for a big dude, Taker can still wrestle. (Well that and Kurt Angle is so fucking good he could put on a four star match with Dick Cheney.) He really should retire though while he's still can with dignity, take Kane, Show, and Mark Henry with them.
