WOD: Through the Darkness of Forever

Wrathlance moved out into the crowd, looking for a suitable human. He sniffed, the scents of various bloods entering his nose, swirling in his head. He smelled a clean, sweet one, and moved towards it. He stopped before a beautiful girl who looked lost and confused in this hectic place. he walked up to her and smiled broadly. "Lost?" he screamed over the pounding music. She nodded, embaressed. He gestured, and she leaned close. "So am I. Let me buy you a drink", he offered, giuding her by her back to the bar. He caught Desiree's glance, nodding with his head to the girl, seeking an affirmative.

Wondering why Hunter was yet to answer her, (perhaps his mind was somewhere else?)..Desiree' noticed that Wrathlance was trying to be ever helpful and nodded to Him at his choice for her next feed...Usually preferring young men over women, solely beacuse they also satisfied her sexual hunger as well,The young Tremere decided she was just too famished to be picky tonite.

Wishing to waste no more time on Hunter as devilishly handsome as he was, Desiree' instead chose to go to where Wrathlance was and meet 'her next meal',the young and beautiful girl, and 'introduce' herself. As she looked the girl over she decided that she would do nicely. for now.

'Hmm , perhaps this demon will be of more help to me than I first thought, she said.. "I think I will visit the chantry later as There may be some spell books I can look thru to see what if any will be any use to me against Lucian."

*OOC-"Sorry I kinda move my character along even when the others cant post but I hope its ok because I really dont like lagging behind the other.characters"

Veronica

Rufus grabbed her hands.

"Don't worry about it. I'll get more acustomed to think as time progresses. ... What happened to you?"

He put his arms around her shoulders and wmbrased her like it was his sister. All of a sudden he went into a slight trance of his own.

His eyes turned black and rolled into the back of his head. He remembered the dream he had. The bright light, but there was something different, something new. There was a face. He couldn't completely make it out. He regained consiousness in a matter of seconds.

He rubbed veronica's shoulder.

"You feel cold. Get dressed."

Rufus stood up from the bed and waited for Veronica to get dressed.

Victoria would have blushed if that had still been possible. She hadn't meant to be so bold as to touch this man without his consent, she'd simply lost herself in the moment.

She stood and went to her armoire, distractedly choosing her clothing as she tried to explain the unexplainable to Rufus. For how could she possibly convey what it was to feel complete in the arms of another person...to experience that dreamy perfection of two halves becoming whole in a way that only twin souls can know.

She smiled momentarily as she felt a trickle of that man still running within her, he'd left his mark...his imprint upon her soul. She would always know him, and told herself that she would not lose him again. She would not let anyone seperate him from her as they had when she was small...they belonged together.

"...so I'm going out to find him, I'm sorry Rufus. I have to go before Simon comes back...he will not be happy about this."

She went to Rufus, smiled softly and quickly hugged him, then left abruptly on foot, out of the chantry and into the night.

Victoria

Rufus embraced her warmly as she left. The vision still clear in his mind. As she left he retired to his room and rested. He looked at the things on the walls trying to remember until he again fell asleap.

When he awoke it was early in the morning. He was in a cold sweat. It was still dark outside. The vision had returned in his sleep. The same blinding red light, the same undescribable face. He laid there and struggled with his thoughts trying to fall back asleep until the next nightfall.

OOC: it's almost mornRight?

James

Slowly, James regained consciousness. He had not expected to be attacked, let alone be felled with one blow, without even a chance to defend himself. As he slowly rose to his feet, he looked around the room quickly. The intruders did not appear to be still here, and Miss Devin was still asleep, safe and sound.

Feeling relief wash over him, James reached into his pocket, and pulled out his cell phone.

Master Lucian would surely like to know what had transpired.

Lucian

Just as Lucian was about to knock on the door of the Chantry, he felt his cell phone go off. Cursing under his breath, he backed up a step, away from the door, and pulled the phone from his jacket pocket.

"What? Someone attacked you? At the club? Yes, yes. I will be right there."

Sighing, Lucian closed the phone and returned it to his pocket. It seems that hitting up the nightwalkers for information would have to be done another time.

Lucian climed back into his jeep, and started back towards the club. However, as he was passing an intersection, Lucian felt a familiar twinge. Looking up, he saw that he was coming up on Lake Shore Drive. Following his hunch, he turned on it, and slowly drove, scanning the sidewalks for the woman he had met earlier this evening.

And there she was, walking down the sidewalk. She was without her escort, which confused him for a second, but that thought was only to be discarded when a million other thoughts and feelings flooded his mind. The mere sight of her brought memories of the brief second they had shared together. The second that seemed an eternity, as their souls intertwined, and carressed one another.

She was walking, head down, as if she were deep in thought. Lucian pulled up from behind, until he was driving right alongside her. He came to a stop beside her, and leaning over, opened the passenger door. Extending his hand to her, he spoke softly to her.

"There you are! I have been searching all over for you! Quickly, you must get in. We have to return to the Oracle before dawn is upon us!"

Indeed, Victoria had been afraid of the impending dawn, but hoped to make it back to the club before the sun welcomed the morning. She eyed the man's hand...Lucian's hand, with trepidation, afraid that if she touched it, she would be unable to move as that wonderful feeling of completeness overwhelmed her again. Lucian noticed as she hesitated and realized what he was doing. It was hard to believe that such a simple gesture could lead to something so powerful. She climbed in as he moved his hand, and smiled softly in thanks, but trembled in his presence, so close to him...yet unable to touch him. She sat there as they quickly made their way back to the Oracle, unsure of what to say.

I've seen your dreams...your hopes...your desires. I've known you forever, but words are lost to me now that you're near. I ache to be held in your embrace...yet fear something so purely powerful. Who are we? What are we?

"Lucian..." she began softly, startling him. "Are you surprised that I know your name, Lucian?"

She turned to him.

"I've always known you...I've simply been asleep...until you awoke me with one, gentle touch."

~Dream~ said:
'Well , My dear Hunter, Hello ", and how are you doing tonight?"
'What do YOU make of tonight's festivities'?

Hunter turned from his thoughts.

"Hmmm? Oh, I'm well enough I suppose. Not working tonight?"

Hunter smiled a knowing smile.

"Tonights 'festivities', as you put it, were mild compared to some of the things I've seen, but they were alright, for what they were."

Devin's eyes fluttered open. Her head felt fuzzy...

...where am I?

You're resting in your room. Your body clock has been rewound, and you've been healed, but your mind is still adjusting to your body's new state. It will take a while longer for you to recover. I kept your mind safe while you were "healed".

Thank you, Boy...

I won't leave you alone like that again. I'm sorry. If I hadn't been thinking so hard... I would've been paying attention...

Boy... it's alright...

...maybe this constant analysis... really isn't worth it... maybe by thinking so hard... I'm missing the meaning...

Boy...? I said it's fine... I still love you...

She smiled woozily, slowly rising from the bed, one sleeve of her pink dress slipping down to reveal a pale shoulder.

Y-You're a bit confused, I think, Girl...

Hmm?

Ah, you... never mind.

Devin was curious as to why Boy seemed flustered, but nevertheless, she shrugged and slipped her feet back into her soft stockings and boots, grimacing as the blood rushed from her head when she stood.

"Unngh," she muttered, thinking aloud, "I wonder if Sonja is still here..."

She stumbled up the stairs, Boy still silent yet now watchful, and she entered the emptying dancefloor. It appeared that after the excitement, everyone was realizing they had other places to be...

Sonja stood by a wall, a bit dazed. Devin approached her, smiling weakly, her head still foggy.

"H-Hey," she managed. "Everything alright, Miss Sonja?"

Desiree'

Sensing the ever -growing fear that Lucian was possibly headed back to the club, and knowing that it indeed would be dawn before she knew it , Desiree'decided to motion to the demon.

"Perhaps our young 'guest' would like to stop by my place with us for a quick nightcap since it seems like this place is dying down some?'Desiree'inquired.

"Sure that would be really nice, thank-you ,the naive girl replied innocently",smiling up at Wrathlance.

Looking At Hunter , Desiree'nodded her head and wished him a good night as well, wondering exactly what he meant by the festivities being 'mild' but deciding to pursue that with him at a later date.

As she headed out the door of the club with Wrathlance and the girl, she again felt the hunger , the need to feed. She looked urgently into Wrathlance's eyes.."We must hurry ".

Making her way back into the club initially as Lucian left in a rush, barely managing to avoid a collision with him. As she steps back into the club, she forgets why she came back in.. and decides since not everyone seemed to be as freaked out about the happenings that it must have been some wierd performance.. but that doesn't explain how Devin was hurt so bad and you know it. True, maybe I should find her..

Then not knowing exactly how long she had just been standing there out of the way, thinking to herself, trying to figure out exactly what had happened. She is snapped back to the here and now by Devin's voice...

"H-Hey," she managed. "Everything alright, Miss Sonja?"

She blinks out of her slight daze as she turns to look at Devin. "Oh there you are. I'm fine. I was just looking for you to see if you were ok." She then looks to Devin, If it was some show shouldn't she look a little better.. "You look like you could use some more rest Devin. That was some strange show. Does that happen often here?"

Lucian

She hesitated, staring at his outstretched hand in what looked like a mix of fear and desire. Lucian looked at her in confusion for a few seconds, then pulled his hand back quickly as the reason for her hesitation dawned on him. She was afraid that if they touched again, the same feeling would overwhelm them. He wondered why he had not thought about that before he made the gesture.

He smiled softly at her as she climbed in. Thousands of words went through his head, and were immiediatly were discarded. He did not know how to say to her what he really felt, so instead, he was silent as he drove back towards the Oracle.

"Lucian..." she began softly, startling him. "Are you surprised that I know your name, Lucian?"

Her sudden words startled him, breaking him away from his train of thought. He opened his mouth to answer her, then closed it, not knowing the answer to her question. Deep down, he was not surprised that she knew his name, although logically that was impossible, as he did not recall ever meeting her before he made his astral journey, a mere night ago. It seemed like an eternity. So much had happened in that time span, it made his head spin just thinking about it.

"I've always known you...I've simply been asleep...until you awoke me with one, gentle touch."

Lucian felt his face heating, and he knew a flush had overtaken him. He was usually so composed, but his emotions seemed to be able to run wild in her presence. He stuggled to keep his mind on the road, and also to form a response to her questions. She seemed so familliar...

Images flashed through Lucian's head. Images of two children playing together, under the watchful eye of two adults. Images of the two adults argueing, and the children peeking at them from behind a door. And finally, an image of the adults taking them away, in different directions. The girl screamed for the boy, for him. And he called back to her.

"Victoria, don't leave me!"

Victoria...

Victoria...

"Victoria."

She looked at him then, a small smile upon her face. He had said her name almost unconsiously, his tongue remembering a name it had long forgotten, yet longed to speak. He smiled at her again, feeling at ease finally, knowing she was with him at last.

"I have always known you as well, Victoria. You have always been sleeping in my soul, though I was not aware of it until we touched, again, after so many years."

Looking towards the road again, Lucian realized that they had arrived at the Oracle. He pulled into the garage, and parked the car. Lucian walked around the car, and opened the door for her. Smiling he led her into the club, into his home.

Rufus awoke. It was nightfall. He was still drssed in his trench coat and the clothes he had worn when he arived. He went downstairs. He wanderred around the mansion until he found a wash room. He shed and cleaned his garments and then got a quere hungery sensation. He redressed and found a kitchen and made himself a sandwitch. His hunger was still not filled. He walked out of the complex and wanderred the streats. He passes thing and places, all of them reminding him of his past.

He then found the Oracle. It was a night club that seemed to be full of people. He walked inside. The music was blaring techno music filled the building and the hearts of all that were in it. He then sat at a table in a dark corner as the neon and black lights swirled and made intriquite patterns on the dance flore. He watched and watched. His hunger grew and grew until something was awakened in him. His mind filled of lust and blood. In an almost trance like state he went onto the dance floor and all of a sudden a young beutiful girl danced up to him. They twisted a web of lust in their dancing. She ran her hands through her hair revealing her neck. He was drawn to it. He leaned down as to kiss it placing his hands upon her hips. He however didn't kiss her but bit her. It seemed new to him but it was like he had done it a million times. His eyes glowing red as he drank. The girl went pale in the face and colapsed lifeless. He continued to dance in a trance. The giwent unnoticed exept to Rufus. He grabbed her and hid her lifeless body.

He returned to his seat still in the trance. As he came to he was filled with an almost erotic desire. The taste of the girl's blood had awoken him and revitalized him. He felt as he could never remember feeling before. The vampire in him had awoken.

"And hurry we will. Now, my good girl, how would you like to see some magic?" he asked, looking down at her bemusedly. Though she replied affirmatively, she thought he had meant like a dissapearing quarter. When she suddenly found herself in a strange apartment with Wrathlance and Desiree next to her, she let out a gasp, falling back. "How... How'd you do that?" she managed to pant out. "Like I said... Magic", smirked Wrathlance. "Ahh, at last. A little room", he sighed, stretching his wings out to their full glory. the already startled girl fell to the couch, staring in terror at this new sight.

The dancing seemed to have started up again. People were still arriving now that the floor had emptied slightly, and the event seemed to have been mostly forgotten -- considered, perhaps, a brawl with special effects. Or for those who were familiar with the arcane, nothing worth mentioning in public.

"S-Show?" asked Devin, a little confused. "What? I wouldn't know," she responded slowly, not understanding what Sonja meant. "I haven't been here long enough to know how often shows happen..."

Er... is she talking about my magic?

She's a sleeper, Girl. Change the subject.

Ah... shoot! I kind of assumed... with that hair...

Yes, I understand, Girl. Hurry!

"Ahh," she said, flushing slightly, "would you like to dance, Miss Sonja? I'd like to have a little bit of fun before I go to bed. That... performance... was excruciating. Special effects are hard on your eyes when you're right near them..."

She took her friend's hand and pulled her to her feet. "Come on! Let's, um, party!" She blushed slightly and smiled, tilting her head.

What, are you finally going to let loose? It's about time...

Be quiet, Boy!

She smiled slightly as Devin asked her to dance, unsure at first, but before she knew it Devin had taken her hand and pulled her to her feet. “Sure. Well it was a good performance. Oh and Devin, please just call me Sonja. The Miss makes me feel old.” She lets herself be led to the dance floor, figuring she might as well have some fun, before going home to her apartment.

And left, and right...

Devin Shildea twirled around Sonja, grasping her hands, then letting go, then holding again, leading the surprised older woman in an impressive display of footwork.

And left, and UP...

You're good, Girl. Those dancing lessons came in handy, eh?

You didn't seem to like them...

Well, I didn't think you'd be dancing with beautiful women!

Stop pretending you have a libido, Boy...

But it's fun! You blush!

Truthfully, she was blushing slightly at his comments, so she simply didn't reply and continued to concentrate on the dance. She spun Sonja, and as she danced with her new friend, the two caught stares for both their beauty and their skill at dancing. She smiled, and her eyes turned to her partner's hair once again. That greyish-silver... it's beautiful. It looks wonderful on her... and it's a terrific dye job... it looks natural, but how could that be?

They continued to dance with the tempo, the band now watching them, pleased that someone was appreciating the music again. Rather than grow tired, Devin found her stamina increasing, her fatigue dropping away as she managed to forget her troubles.

Rufus saw Devin and Shidea dance on the dance flore. There twisted and turned in music filled trance. He peered around the room looking for others. He recognized none of them. He came out of his dark corner of the club. He looked up at the dj booth. He walked twards it. The DJ left to grab a drink while the music played.

Rufus proceded to the DJ boothe intranced in the music. He recognized the equipment that seemed easy enough. He picked up the headphones placing them around his neck. The mixing board turned into an audio playground. He scratched and added effects into the song. It was fluid and intrancing. He switched cd's to a gothic heavy metal song. As the group shouted the lyrics in the beginning Rufus added in effects and scratches to turn the song into a rave techno remix of the song. The crowd danced with ecstasy, obviously loving the music. All thier body's intertwining in each other to the beats of the music.  :) :D

OOC:Sorry I got Bored, no one is posting.

She whirled with Devin on the floor oblivious to the fact of the looks they were getting. She noticed the blush in the girl's cheeks but didn't pay any attention to it, thinking it only a reaction to the exertion of thier dancing. She smiled finding that the dancing was not actually making her tired, actually it was having an opposite effect on her.

She looks around abit startled by the change in the music. However she changes her dance style, going abit more risque, along with the new beat. But after a few moments she grows uncomfortable, as the crowd presses in and suddenly breaks off the dance. She looks to Devin as a confused look crosses the girl's face. "Sorry, Devin, but I should be going..."

She turns and heads out of the club, catching a cab she heads back to her apartment.

They were dancing, spinning, and Devin was smiling cheerfully, spinning with Sonja as they continued their dance.

Then quite suddenly, as the beat of the music began to change, Sonja pulled closer. The younger girl blinked in confusion as Sonja wrapped her arms around her, and they began to dance closer. Devin felt her body rub against Sonja's and felt very nervous...

And then Sonja stepped back, obviously confused. "I should be going..."

"U-Uh, bye Miss Sonja," managed Devin, but the silver-haired girl had already left. Blinking in confusion, the pink dress-wearing Magi sat herself down at the bar again and stared at the wood paneling.

Boy, what was that all about?

...

Hey, Boy?

...

Boy?

...nagnnn...

What? Boy, what's wrong?

....eeehheeheeh...heeh...

...Boy?

...dancing with...preety girl... heeheheh...

Oh, dear. Boy, what's wrong with you? I'm asking you, why do you think she left?

...dunno...wish she hadn't...heeheheh...

Boy! Snap out of it!

What! Snap out of what! I wasn't saying anything!

...ugh. Boys.

For some reason, Devin felt slightly jealous at Boy's thoughts, but banished the feeling immediately. That wouldn't make any sense. It's Boy's right if he feels attracted to a woman even without his own body... after all, he only feels what she feels...

Unless the way that Sonja was rubbing up against her was...

Devin blushed and scratched her head worriedly.

"Ohh, things are getting confusing..." She sighed gently. "I hope Master Lucian comes home soon." She smiled softly at that thought. "I wonder if he's proud of me for how I helped..."

Unless he's with that girl... thought Devin, feeling slightly sad again at that.

Who? The one that radiated darkness?

She... radiated darkness?

Yes. She's only learning to control it, so if it's new... she's probably a newly christened Nightstalker. A vampiress.

Umm... then L-Lucian...

Is safe. She wouldn't hurt him. But I don't know what he's thinking...

Devin Shildea drummed her fingers on the table. What on earth was going on? By agreeing to learn time and space magic from Lucian, she had been drawn into a whole other world that she would never understand...

Boy... let's go practice...

Good plan.

She left the dance floor, walking back to her room.

Sonja caught a cab and headed back to her apartment… Why the hell did you run out of there like that, probably made Devin think you were a little nuts. She thinks she should have stayed, but the change in the music and the strange feeling that came over her as it played; she figures she must have overreacted. Overreacted is put it lightly, dancing with a girl never bothered you before.

She gets out of the cab, pays and tips the driver and heads upstairs. Arriving at her door she opens the door and steps into the dark apartment. “Should have stayed.” She flips on the light and heads to the bathroom to draw a bath. Slipping out of her dress, she slips into the hot water, closing her eyes as the water covers her; she lets her thoughts drift back over the night’s events at the club….

She wakes up as she goes to turn over and realizes she is still in the tub. Shivering slightly as she steps out, she grabs one of the oversized towels and wraps herself up and heads for her bed. Well tomorrow night you should go back and see if you can find Devin and apologize for running out of there like that. With that thought she drops the towel and slips into bed, falling asleep with more thoughts of this evening running through her head….

Victoria followed closely behind Lucian, always a breath away, but careful not to touch... She was a like moth drawn to the flame of his soul, reaching for him only to pull away just before kindling their light.

"Lucian..." she whispered softly. "You will not be safe if they find me here."

They continued on, into a dark, private passageway. She watched as his hands began to move fluidly...glowing symbols trailing then lost as he chanted something she did not understand. An entrance appeared, and he smiled softly, urging her inside to safety.

It would be a long day....but she was with him...finally alone with him....and that was all she cared about.

Lucian

"Lucian... you will not be safe if they find me here."

Lucian was leading her through a dark passageway, a direct passage from the garage to his lair underneath the club. Lucian did not want prying eyes to see them return. Lucian knew that her Sire would look for her here, regardless of whether she was spotted at the club or not, but it never hurt to be safe. Lucian smiled back at Victoria, trying to comfort her with his confidence.

"While your Sire is indeed a powerful being, he would be a fool to try and assault this place. Within these walls, my power is magnified tenfold. This club is built upon a Node, a nexus of magical energy. It is similar to a hot spring, only instead of water bubbling to the surface, Quintessence, the underlying energy of the universe, flows freely. You will be safe here, Victoria. I will see to that."

Lucian smiled at her again, knowing she was probably taken aback at the cold intensity with which he spoke that last statement. He did not mean to scare her, but the knowledge that he had failed to protect other people in his home more than once weighed heavily on him. No matter what, nothing would harm her. He would give his life if need be to see that she was safe.

Finally, they arrived at the living quarters. Lucian walked passed his own quarters, and opened the door to the room immidiately next to it. It was exactly the same as his own room, furnished sparsely, mostly in while, with a few tapestries decorating the walls, and an adjoining bathromm. He stepped inside, and turning, spoke softly to her.

"I hope you like the room. I know it is a little spartan, but I have never been a very good decorator." Lucian's cheeks colored immidiately after saying that, and he looked down to the ground in embarrasment.

Why did I say that? And why am I embarrased? I do not understand my reactions. It is as if my emotions are running wild.

"I... I am sorry. I am not sure what..." Lucian reached out for her, feeling an overwhelming urge just then to touch her, to run his fingers over the soft, delicate skin of her face. Then he realized what he was doing, and stopped, his hand hanging in the air halfway between them, shaking slightly. He felt his face heating again, and let his arm slowly fall back to his side as he took a shuffling step backwards, sure that she thought him a fool.

His heart thumped in his chest, and Lucian just stood there, not sure of what to do, paralyized by his emotions, by his reactions, and by her presence.
