World of Sardon

The wind whipped around Lucifine and Maddox as they finally came to the tiny cabin that was nearly hidden amongst the giant trees in the snow. The elf set her down long enough to open the door and helped her inside. He shut the door against the storm that howled outside now and went to start a fire in the small hearth. When he turned back, Lucifine was there, leaning against the wall. Despite her insistence, Maddox picked her up again and laid her on the bed.

The elf went to add more wood to the fire, when Lucifine grabbed his arm. She pulled Maddox to her, heedless of the strange, bluish blood that stained the front of her linen shirt. For a moment, she buried her face in his neck and breathed in the comforting scent of him. Suddenly, Lucifine was mortified by her abrupt actions and she let go of him. A bright blush lit her pale cheeks as she looked away from Maddox.

“Let’s see about your arm…”

Lucifine motioned for him to sit next to her. As guilty as she felt about Kallisto being missing and the death of the god, Maximus, there was nothing she could do, but focus on the present and plan for tomorrow…

“Do you think we’ll be able to find help amongst your people?” she asked quietly. "Your mother... You said your mother might be able to help, right?"

Lucifine undid his shirt just enough to slide it off his shoulder. She hoped that his wound wasn’t bad. She was a soldier; the only thing she knew was field medicine and that didn’t amount to much… When she was done with him, she'd take care of herself.

Maddox had never in his whole life had a woman object to him quite so much in all of his years. It had him laughing really. He picked her up, once starting the fire, once more and laid her on his bed. He wanted to move in and kiss her... but there wasn't a doubt in his mind that it wouldn't be right to do so right now. He moved to fill the fire with wood but then he was pulled down and found the woman of his dreams hugging him.

He felt her taking in his smell and he was quite flattered. Of course he was thinking about how he could get used to this when she pulled away so quickly. Was she a mind reader or what?

"My mother will most definitely be able to help," he said with a laugh. It was clear that there was more to it than that. "The elves have been waiting for a good reason to join the war. I think that the fall of Korinth will convince them that we must act now and quickly." He reassured.

He was going to go get more wood when she stopped him again. "My arm will be fine," he chuckled. He had gotten the arrow out when he rang the bells of E'sari for back up. "There's a chance of infection but that's normal."

Yeah—but cool! I figured her wolfy-ness had something to do with it. The Drama Factor (tm) will be high for her later :D. Thanks for the happy birthday, by the way :)

She felt that strange warmth filling her and she figured that that was the end of it... but then he was still going, still thrusting deep into her over stimulated and very sensitive body. Only the most animalistic of noises escaped her as the assualt on her young body continued. There was a ledge and she was trying not to fall off into the abyss that would be pleasure.

"Do--rin..." She barked in mild shock as she felt her body being washed in euphoria. Oh, she needed to slow down but that wasn't happening as she felt him ride her through the orgasm. When he finally left her she collapsed onto the hard rock floor. It was easy to see that he was growing cold again due to the harsh winter storm outside.

"Come here..." She breathed as she snatched a cloak and her sweater to warm them both up. She hugged him close but was trying not to envoke his lust again.

Dorin panted as he pulled away from the warmth of Kallisto’s body. The sound of his name on her lips was as delectable as he thought it would be. In Scourge’s glow, he saw the thin trickle of blood that wet the inside of her thighs. Not only had he kidnapped the priestess of Sardonica’s godling brother, he’d taken her virginity as well.

I’ve taken more from him than he’ll ever know… the assassin smiled slightly.

Dorin reached for Scourge, and sheathed the black blade, he idly wondered if the god Maximus, would take back his priestess now that she’d been despoiled. Suddenly, he felt the warm of a woolen cloak settle around his shoulders. Dorin sighed sharply as Kallisto pulled herself into the cloak and wrapped her arms around him.

The hell!? he thought, taken aback by the way Kallisto so fiercely clung to him.

He couldn’t understand why this girl—this woman, now—was so hell-bent on saving him. If he were her, he’d turn into a wolf again, let him freeze to death, and walk out of the cave in the morning.

Dorin looked down at Kallisto, and his brow furrowed. For the first time in a long time, he felt a faint prick of conflict inside him. He wouldn’t kill the changeling—he had claimed Kallisto. She belonged to him now. But he couldn’t hand her over to his Lady either…

In the morning, I’ll let her go… Dorin thought . I can say that she escaped and was lost in the storm…

He lay down with Kallisto and she made them a pillow to lay on with her sweater. She lay with her back to his chest and he held her with the same possessiveness that he had taken her with earlier.

I’ll make her scratch and bite me so it looks like she fought me off when she turned in to a wolf…

Dorin felt Kallisto nestle into him, and he held her tight. Exhausted from her and the cold, Dorin let his eyes drift close, and let his changeling warm him through the night…

Kallisto felt safe with the strong arms around her. The wolf girl didn't know why she would feel safe with this man that had just taken her without her consent. It was the wolf, it had to be. She should have let him die but the wolf in her wouldn't have been able to go to another for attention, the human side would try but it would be difficult... But the feral side of her didn't want this man, who took her so forcefully to die.

She wanted to keep him around and see what was going to happen. She could lie and tel people that she was trying to get close to him because he was close to Sardonica... But it would be a lie...

And with the worrisome thoughts of what would happen to her if she was taken to the lady she snuggled down into his embrace. She woke early and saw him still sleeping and she felt a tiny smile forming on her lips. She shook her head as if she was crazy before gently touching his face to wake him. "Dorin..." She said softly trying to rouse him.

She hoped that he was not too cold... She sat up, it was chilly but not too cold for a wolf girl in the middle of her winter coat.

She sighed harshly.

Stop feeling so damned sorry for yourself!, Lucifine snapped at herself. You’re a soldier and you were a captain of the King’s Guard! Thank whatever gods are left that you’re still alive and that you have at least one person still by your side…

The Korinthian woman brushed aside some of her white bangs, took off her gloves and started to strip off her bloodied shirt. Gods in heaven, she didn’t even bleed red anymore…

What’s happening to me? she thought, suddenly scared. What’s the Night Mother’s Shard doing to me?

Lucifine swallowed her fear, determined to bare this as best as possible. Marius had entrusted the Shard to her, and if the Night Mother sought to somehow test her, then she would bare whatever the goddess did to her.

"My mother will most definitely be able to help," he said with a laugh. It was clear that there was more to it than that. "The elves have been waiting for a good reason to join the war. I think that the fall of Korinth will convince them that we must act now and quickly." He reassured.

“Korinth didn’t just fall…” Lucifine said as she used her shirt to wipe the rest of the blood from her chest. “Near as I can tell, the only way they could’ve launched such a fast attack against the High Seat and the rest of the kingdom was to have worshipers already in place. There had to be worshipers and priests of Sardonica in place for years. Korinth joined her so quietly that no decent folk knew until it was too late. When the time came, every one that hadn’t was put to the sword…”

She inspected the starburst scar between her breasts. Nothing was wrong that she could see. The Night Mother’s rage had been so violent that it made her bleed and she shivered… Lucifine tossed aside the shirt and tried to look out the window. The snow had almost completely covered it now.

“Do you have anything I can wear?” she said, and on the heels of that:

“How are we to pass the night with such a storm at our door?”

Lucifine was used to the solid stonework of Korinthian buildings--she wasn't so sure about this little cabin...

Something touched Dorin's face and he immeadiately reached for Wrack. He swiftly unsheathed the knife, only to find Kallisto before him.

Dorin pulled Wrack away. The morning air touched him, but it didn't seem to be as cold as it was the night before...

"What is it?" he asked Kallisto as he smoothly resheathed Wrack.

She didn't flinch at the sudden appearance on the knife. She stared at him for a moment as he put the weapon down. "It's morning..." She said softly as she moved her hand to brush through his hair. Her hair fell a little into her face but she didn't care as she looked down at him.

"I guess we should leave soon..." She said. "The storm is done and the snow will be done melting in about an hour or so..." She explained.

Dorin looked up at Kallisto.

Morning... he thought dimly, as the changeling brushed long, black bangs away from his face.

It was a curious, but not unwelcomed gesture; Dorin idly wondered why she hadn't tried to kill him in his sleep... The assassin threw off the cloak that had kept he and Kallisto warm through the night.

"We?" he said as he gathered his armor but only dressed himself in his pants. "You can leave if you want--count yourself lucky that I'm letting you go..."

Dorin strapped Wrack and Scourge to his hips. He took hold of Kallisto's hand and hauled her up.

He found himself admiring the young woman, and wished there was time to take her again... He reached out to one of her ears that were littered with piercings and chose the nicest, most ornate one. Dorin gently plucked it from Kallisto's ear, a trophy and reminder of the night they'd spent together, and slipped it into the little pouch at his side.

Dorin suddenly kissed Kallisto hard--hard enough to take her breath away. Hard enough to remind her of his ownership of her. He held her tight to his warm chest.

"When another man is with you..." he whispered harshly, "You'll think only of me. His kisses, his touch will be mine. The only thing you'll feel is me on your skin, me inside you. I'll come back for you, Kallisto and on that day, you'll know I've come to claim you for good..."

Dorin stepped away from her calm and ready now.

"Now," he said. "Before you leave here, you have to change and attack me. I won't take you and give you up to Sardonic, but I can't go back without looking like you had to fight me to escape."

It occured to him, that he might lose one of his knives during this fictitious fight. Dorin took Wrack from his side, still sheathed, and held it out to Kallisto.

"Take it."

She allowed him to take the earring... it was her favorite one, a little moon with a star.

Shocked... yes shock was what washed over her as she listened to him tell her that she was free to go. She didn't... well, she wanted to run away and hide and cry but it wouldn't help her. Far from it actually. She knew that she had to face the fact that she was stuck with him... or no mate, for the rest of her days. He was her master and she would obey him. She found herself being kissed roughly, her lips bruising under the forceful embrace of the man. She found her eyes closing from his kiss and touch.

And it was over as suddenly as it started. She rested against him however as he whispered in her ear. She looked up at him, surprised as all hell. There was no way that he was suggesting what she thought that he was suggesting. She nodded, she couldn't argue...

"Attack?" She asked but she understood. She accepted the sword and stared at it and then looked to him. "Dorin..." her voice sounded like it was getting a little emotional. She carefully set the weapon down before shifting. She lunged at him catching the man offguard and sending them crashing to the ground.

It was hard for Dorin not to fight as Kallisto bit and scratched at him. His instincts wanted to reach out and snap the girl's neck or slip Scourge between her ribs...

He gritted his teeth against Kallisto's fangs and claws as she mauled him. When she was done, he lay there, bloodied with a slight smile on his face. The changeling had obeyed and it pleased him very much.

She stared down at the man who was obviously in pain. She moved to her knees beside him and thought about using her healing powers. She touched his head and actually moved down to kiss him once more. Could she really leave him like this?

"Dorin... What happened between us will not be forgotten... I will be waiting..." She said before standing up, after one final kiss, and changing as she ran to find her godling as the other had called him.

Kallisto's kiss was soft on his lips, and somehow, it made the pain of him being mauled worthwhile.

"I know it, sweet..." he whispered wickedly against Kallisto's lips. "I know you'll be waiting..."

Dorin watched the changeling go. He'd spared her, but the other woman, Lucifine wouldn't be so lucky. He stood, and wavered on his feet for a moment, before he mist-walked himself back to Dessine, in Korinth...

If they have enough worshippers then they can practically move about freely, I thank all the Destrayan heavens that Sardonica has not reached such a status yet. But there are the weak minded that would gladly fall to her feet and worship her for a good set of crops..." He said sounding slightly irritated.

He nodded as she spoke of Korinth. "It was well played..." He admitted. He didn't agree with how it came about at all but it was very well thought out. He noticed the scar and... well, he couldn't help it he was half man dammit. He started to move to the closet, he knew that despite the fire it would get very cold. "I have some clothes... My sister's," he explained trying to leave it at that. She was only human afterall. He hadn't wanted her to think that another woman stayed here and kept clothes here.

"And, if you want," he said coming back with a long dress of black, white, and blue, his sister was more feminine, "we can keep each other warm tonight. Or if you think I should, I could go jump in the creek out back," he suggested before blowing out the candles leaving only the fireplace burning. Even it was a little dim due to the winds and the cold.

“Project herself…” Lucifine murmured. “She reaches through me—I’m her… Avatar?”

It made sense to her now:

“When Marius was proclaimed the Night Mother’s High Priest. His hair had gone black as night and his skin, pale as the moon. Instead of being cold-aspected, he had the Night Mother’s dark aspect. He was prepared for it though…”

Lucifine looked at the dress and it was her turn to chuckle. It wasn’t the cold that would bother her--she could stand outside in the blizzard and no harm would probably come to her. She didn’t want to wear bloodied clothes…

“It’s been so long since I’ve worn a dress of any sort.” She smiled. “Years.”

Lucifine gratefully took the dress—a beautiful one, at that, and put it on. She frowned slightly as she tightened the lacing on the bodice. She felt… awkward walking around in such a thing…

Lucifine grabbed the woolen blanket off the bed, and settled down in front of the hearth.

“I’m more worried about you freezing.” She said.

She held open the blanket to Maddox, inviting him to come and sit with her…

"I would imagine... He had years to prepare and train to become the high priest. I am sure that he picked the right woman for the job," he said as he tried to stoke the fire a little.

So the Night Mother was darkness and snow? He hadn't known that, he had thought that she was just an ice elemental, learned something new everyday he supposed. "I think that my mother can help with that shard as well," he said as he got to thinking about it. "Deshtal is actually one of the bigger elven cities... even if my mother cannot help us I am sure that there is someone there who can point us in the right direction at least..." He suggested.

Maddox found himself slightly awestruck by the beauty in the dress. He wanted to touch her but... he knew that this was not the right time. "You look very beautiful Lucifine," he said as she tightened the bodice. It was amazing how well the dress fit. It was like she was supoosed to wear it.

As strange as that would be.

"You're worried about me?" He asked with a smile. "I am a survivor," he said settling into the wool next to the beautiful woman. "But I would gladly share a blanket and this fire with you Lucifine..." He said.

Somehow she couldn’t help but smile at the irony.

“It’s strange that Marius would’ve chosen me. My mother gave me three choices when I was young: Marry a good nobleman, become a courtesan, or become a priestess… I chose the sword over any of those, and yet…”

She trailed off as she smoothed the soft gown down, and reached for her gloves. She’d rather be wearing her armor—armor that she’d regrettably left in E’sari…

“...and yet I've become Her vessel in a way that only her chosen clergy can be. I’d be grateful for your mother’s help...”

Lucifine blushed at Maddox’s compliment. Never had she been told that she was beautiful, especially by a man as handsome as he. Suddenly, she felt very out of place and wondered if this was what it was like to be a normal woman…

She looked up at the elf, his amber eyes seemed to glow warmly, gently in the fire’s light.

“Of course I worry for you…”

I think you hide more behind that smile of yours than you care to admit… she thought.

Lucifine brought the blanket around him and lay her head on his shoulder. She watched the fire for a long time as it flickered dimly in the darkness. She closed her eyes and let the comfort of his presence soothe her. She would take whatever bit of peace she could find.

“Tell me about the Destrayans” she asked softly. “Tell me about you…”

A God is born...

<OOC>Feel free to edit him if you want--I hope you like him ;)

Ferren, God of Storms

Name: Ferren
Species: God
Domains: Thunder, Lighting, Wind, Rains, Protection (esp. in battle), and Justice.
Age: 100 (Looks to be 29 or so…)
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 200

Ferren’s Image:
Ferren2.jpg

Personality

Despite his dour appearance, Ferren is a kind and caring god who strives to help those in need. He is a protector of the weak, and of warriors in battle. Ferren is a just god, and upholds and encourages the virtue of justice as well.

Since Ferren’s spent so much time on the mortal plane, he’s very much a human in his emotions and actions. Sometimes it's hard to believe he's god at all. Rather than distancing himself from his worshipers by residing in the heavens, he prefers to stay on the mortal plane, close to them even at risk to himself.

Abilities:

Lightning manipulation, (can strike with lightning bolts [limited], can electrify his weapons, and others’ as a blessing.), Gale, (can summon a strong, protective barrier of wind…), Thunder clap, (blinds and deafens foes for a period of time.)

(More can be added later…)

Weapons/Equipment:
His hands, electrified with lightning, are his preferred weapons, but he carries a trident as well.

Misc:
Ferren is one of the youngest gods in the heavens. So far, he’s managed to escape Sardonica’s notice, but with his courageous acts and willingness to help men fend off the goddess’ people, he’s quickly gathering worshipers and growing in strength.

Currently, Ferren is searching for the Night Mother and any other gods and goddess who remain, to ally with. He is also seeking the right person to become his High Priest or Priestess to solidify his growing power…

<IC>

Ferren walked through the freshly fallen snow to the center of E’sari. He’d hoped to find allies here, but all he found was death. The young godling stared at the carnage before him. The slaughtered bodies of the people of E’sari lay frozen in the snow, and he knew that this was the work of Sardonica’s people.

The god swore softly. He stood there in the eerie silence of the city, and yet he still heard the screams of people as they were slain and the roar of battle as though it were happening around him. Ferren’s hand’s tightened into fists and arcs of lightning crackled around them.

I swear by the heavens, I’ll see justice for this and every other place you’ve burned, Sardonica…

Then, something caught his attention. It was a vague feeling, a sense of something that he’d felt before.

A divine essence? Here?

Ferren followed that feeling but lost it just at the edge of the woods. It wasn’t just a divine essence—it was a divine essence mixed with a human soul.

“Strange...” he murmured.

Ferren gave the woods one last look before he turned back to E’sari. He wasn’t hopeful, but if there were any survivors or any wounded left, he’d see them to somewhere safe…
