Hey, how did your join date get to be June 2004? You were clearly here before 2004!

My original account was guest-ed so I had to create another in 2004.

It is now September 11th, seventeen years after the "9/11" event. I haven't been to Lit for probably 4 or 5 months but I always make time to come back to bump this thread for the day. Never forget.

It's hard to believe that it has been 17 years.

I remember a beautiful morning. Watching the Today Show sipping coffee. Next thing I know, they thought a small plane crashed into the WTC. Woke my husband husband because he was just there.
A few minutes later another jet crashed.

Had an interview to attend, so I went. That is when the pentagon got hit. We ended the interview. Everything was closing. Schools, malls and general stores.

Cell service went out. Internet went out.

We told to be prepared for evacuation. Air Force base to the east, navy base to the west, nuke plant in front of us. So I packed.

Looking at the sky, was very quiet. All flights were grounded. The exception, military planes.

Normal life never returned.
So I have witnessed that and a close family friends be heading. I wish for the innocent times.

Was wondering if someone picked this up. Definitely interesting pics. In some of the early ones you can see the fire under the rubble still burning.

Person who took the pictures also didn't have a bad eye for composition.

Bush didn't go into Iraq because he thought they were behind the attack in NYC. He went there for the multiple reasons stated in the AUMF authorized by Congress.

I remember that morning so well. Wife and I were getting ready for work, I turned on the TV to check the weather and saw the fire in the one tower. I said something to my wife and she came into the room and we were watching just as the second plane hit. It was obvious then that it was an attack, but I just couldn't believe what we were seeing. The rest of that day was just surreal. its a miracle that the death toll that day wasn't 30,000 or more.
