Meeting for the first time in a public place is always good. That way you are not likely to become the victim of a rapist or murderer. Most people have a good sense from body language of what others are really like; it really is not difficult to tell who the creeps are. Some women who I have met on a casual basis just remained casual and platonic "buddies" but the great love of my life was a woman who I arranged to meet at a McDonald's after she messaged me on a personals site.
