Young Justice: Outsiders (OOC)

Tieflings are half demon or you can click the link.

Well, right now I'm going on the basis that Superboy has been "supercharged" since the Big Blue Boy Scout (who said that anyway? I can remember the quote, just not the quoter) had trouble putting him down initially. And outside of that being with two debating voices in its head (sorry, my Ben 10 memory is even worse than my Young Justice memory), I can't think of anyone in Ben 10's database who could go head to head with Superman.

The first time I remember the quote about the Big Blue Boy Scout comes from Livewire and it's after he comes to fight her and parasite while encased in rubber. She makes a comment about how he came prepared (the Boy Scout motto) and wore protection before wrestling with a bad girl or something along those lines.

Well superman is notoriously as powerful as the plot demands. That said baseline supes would knock pretty much all of Ben's forms around with minimal effort. I think Ben has maybe three forms that could take supes. Way Big is probably strong enough though too slow (But lets be fair, Superman forgets his speed in 99% of fights), Atomics can probably mimic kryptonite radiation assuming Ben has been close enough to it to know how to make it. And Alien X is essentially God so he could deal with superman the same way any fan fic writer can. Superman has a tummy ache and returns to the fortress of solitude an poops for a week!

And one last question about Ben. Do you think it had any permanent mental impact, positive or negative, when he became a mother?

By some act of God I've managed to never see the episode where Big Chill gave birth to those little necrofriggians.

I don't think it had any permanent effect on Ben. Though it's hard to tell how much of his behavior is just an act to cover up how scared shitless he is and how weirded out he is. It's actually pointed out once that he acts goofy in serious situations because he doesn't want anybody friend or foe to see him sweat. So maybe he does stay up at night wondering where his little ghost moths are.

Did I mention Vilgax once absorbed Cthlulu and Ben beat him? Without using the Omnitrix just a sword? Admittedly a sword made by Azimuth specifically to beat Cthulu but still it's a SWORD!

Is Cthulhu the Old One that Charmmaster invoked with the Alpha Rune to get rid of her Uncle and take over her pocket universe?

Anyway, that's not the real Cthulhu. The real one lies asleep in a ruined city somewhere in the Pacific.

Charmcaster's home is Ledgerdomain and I don't recall off hand how she regained control other than it involved teaming up with Ben.

Dagon was clearly meant to be Cthulu and was the finale of Ultimate Alien where it's revealed that the Forever Knights were originally good guys before they became terrible people.

Maybe so, but Lovecraft puts Cthuhlu deep in sleep in the Pacific, so everything else is just a cheap knockoff! ;)

Oh a cheap knock off he was, but isn't Cthlulu not in the pacific but rather in an alternate dimension? Cus isn't he from Rileyh or something like that? My Lovecraft is only so so, besides I prefer Yig.

Tiefling is also a playable class in the Neverwinter MMO, as seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4NpNTZAEuU

I just spent fucking hours trying to figure out the stardates in Star Trek for another RP I'm working on, haha. While there are too many numbers for me to pinpoint it with 100% accuracy, I have narrowed it down to about one unit of stardate time per 8.8 earth hours, with it resetting every century on the 23rd year. So, the cycle used in TNG, DS9, and VOY started on January 1st, 2323 and a new cycle will start in 2423. TNG's first season was around Stardates 41000.0 to 41999.0, with it becoming 42000.0 in season two and 47000.0 in the final season. This continued into the other shows and movies, with the final season of Voyager being 54000.0. Fun, huh? LOL.

Anyway, as soon as I finish my Star Trek RP post, I'm going to crash, and then I'll get my YJ post up in the morning when I get home from work.

^^^ Wow, this jack ass posts to tell us we aren't priority. He's gonna post to some people that matter and get back to us when he gets back to us. I feel no love.

On a side note I've watched a grand total of 2 Star Trek movies, the reboot and the one with the whales so I know nothing of Star Dates. I have however often questioned how space faring societies measure time and how it's determined. The modern calendar being a sort of fusion between the solar and lunar calendars with the moonths (see what i did there?) roughly equating to the lunar calendar and the years to the solar calendar. But Mars would have differences on both. Do you set it to the capital, is it just whoever's empire is biggest makes the rules?

Well, I was posting actually to let you know I hadn't forgotten you and provide an explanation why I haven't posted yet :p.

The Star Trek RP is a one-on-one and I wanted to get the first post going because I've already kept this girl waiting while the YJ RP took priority. I wanted to pinpoint the dating methods because we are working with some pretty established lore and stuff. Her and I are cadets from Starfleet Academy who get stuck behind enemy lines when the Dominion War breaks out, much like the crew of the Valiant in Deep Space 9.

And I want to wait to post until tomorrow for this RP because there are a lot of different things going on that I have to respond too, such as the multiple attacks on Psimon and preventing Lady K from becoming a murderer. If I try to fit that post it today too, it's going to be rushed and less than spectacular because I work tonight and need to crash soon :p.

Priority. It's what we were but not what we are. #Xenarocks.

Go on, finish crashing. I know how it is I literally got left behind in another RP here because I had the audacity to spend labor day with friends and family instead of constantly checking the internet. (And note I DO check approximately every four hours that I'm awake even when I am being social. So I wasn't entirely absent.)

That said even if Lady K did kill superboy she wouldn't be a murderer in ANY relevant way. I'm not going to delve into the legal parts of what is and isn't murder and stand your ground laws. But even in practical application (which is where I think most discussions should focus) you killing someone who is attempting to kill you or others is not murder. Murder is by definition evil. No matter how many people died via FDR dropping the atomic bombs on Japan that doesn't make him or anybody in the chain a murderer. If you come at me with a knife and I shoot you I'm not a murderer. I killed you. I'm a killer (for what extremly limited use that term has) but I'm not a murderer.

I can't speak for everybody else but I don't think most of our characters would really hold it against Lady K if she did kill Superboy. He's an enemy combatant and how loosely we frame that is up to us. It comes up a lot in Buffy conversations. Despite dating two vampires (Spike and Angel) and essentially giving a third (Harmony) a free pass she still stakes vampires who have just risen because vamps are evil. In our circumstance anybody who is aware of Psimon has no reason to think the Genomorphs are evil but I'm sure we've collectively killed a few. And if I recall properly the genomorphs aren't evil. Match is crazy but that's about it.

I'm pretty sure Superman would consider it murder :p. Otherwise he would have just killed Superboy himself instead of trying to knock him out. But it doesn't matter, she won't actually kill him, lol.

As far as preference is concerned, I prefer my Great Old Ones asleep. But according to the Call of Cthulhu, Cthulhu maintains his dream-vigil in the stone vaults of R’lyeh, a city that lies in the Pacific Ocean at the furthest point from land possible. It is a damp Cyclopean city of slimy green stone, whose geometry is all wrong.

I don't know if it was a Lovecraft story or someone writing in his mythos, but I remember it being said that all but the strongest willed of men and women would be driven mad merely by the sight of the memory of the shadow of great Cthulhu walking by.

Jeff take your time. I'm curious about what will happen, but not rabidly so! :)

And Sean, I figured Big Chill getting pregnant was like the Genesis Project from the original Star Trek movies. People just pretend it didn't happen!

Even worse, he's posting to people for a rp that doesn't actually exist yet. We're on the back burner for wannabes...*sniff*...*melodramatic arm on forehead sigh*...hehehe

I'm sure there might be a more refined answer on some site dedicated to the entire Star Trek universe, but when all else fails...begin here for pretty much anything. (I know it's not always accurate or timely, but it's a start.)

I'm pretty sure Superman would consider it murder :p. Otherwise he would have just killed Superboy himself instead of trying to knock him out. But it doesn't matter, she won't actually kill him, lol.

Superman's opinion is moot. Soldiers in a war don't murder people. They kill enemy combatants. Again murder is a legal term and it kinda matters here and in some ways varies. LAdy K may not have any alternate options with someone on Superboy's tier. By contrast Superman could zip him out to the middle of the pacific and let him swim back. (Whether or not it's murder if Superboy's skills and stamina allow him to swim back nonwithstanding.)

Superman is not going to be part of our team and thus only what we and I guess Batman thinks matters. And Batman's relationship with Huntress makes it clear that he's not above working with killers.

On a side note aren't we supposed to be losing? I probably would have done all the same things but isn't the back up bat cave a result of us failing miserably?

Somewhere in a DC parking garage, Dazzle is cringing at the sound of the other shoe falling

Well no, we don't "retreat" to the secondary Batcave. The idea was that we go their to receive training and use it as a team headquarters. After this battle, the League has a PR nightmare, and so the Outsiders are formed as a covert ops group to act outside the UN charter.

Lady K is a stoic in the classical sense. Which means she will value/enjoy things while she has them, including her life, but has already accepted that she is going to lose them. She would have struggled against Superboy, but there would have been no fear in her eyes.

When I was 19, I got a gift certificate for one AFF lesson. That's Accelerated Free Fall. Skydiving lesson. You can learn to jump on your own faster, and you get freefall experience the first time out of the plane.

You spend about half a day or so in ground school, and most of it watching slides of stuff that can go wrong, and helping you decide if you can fix your main, or if you need to cut it and pull your reserve. The thing I was scared most about was chickening out. I was absolutely terrified that at the moment of decision, I would back out and ride the airplane back down to the ground.

When the moment came, I exited the plane, and all fear evaporated. I think part of it was because there's no sense of falling, because once you reach a constant speed, it just feels like you're hanging above the ground with a hundred and twenty mile wind blowing in your face. Also, I think part of it is that fear is your body trying to keep you from doing something stupid, and when you do something stupid anyway, your body says, "Screw it, I was trying to help you out, but you weren't listening to me, so you're on your own." My brain was going through showing my instructors (two jumpmasters go out of the plane with you on your first couple of jumps in the AFF program) that I knew my "Circle of Awareness", and part of me was trying to remember to hang on to my ripcord after my six second count (pull thousand two thousand three thousand...), because I wanted to get my deposit on it.

I have had to pull my reserve once, and I was scared...five minutes after I was safely on the ground.

Now, I'm no where near being a badass bitch, but I have been in a few situations where there was a definite sphincter puckering going on, and I didn't break down. People react to different situations different ways. If Dazzle hasn't soiled herself, it's purely luck. Katherine is a whole 'nother game. She would be trying to decide how to get out of the mess, and fear wouldn't come into play until the lights went out and the shades were pulled down. And I do reserve the right to decide the emotive responses of my characters. So my response will pick up from where there was supposedly fear in her eyes, and go from there.

I was wondering when all of that would become relevant.

Also don't jump out of planes silly. If you do who needs a parachute? Every year it seems one or two guys take the plunge and just walk away like nothing ever happened.

I'll edit it to have her staring blankly as she realizes her throat is about to be crushed, but I thinkanyone would have fear in their eyes in that situation. One is not thinking clearly as their airways are obstructed and oxygen is deprived from the brain. She's pinned down by a super strong body, she's getting the life choked out of her, the walls are closing in, and death is only moments away. Anyone would have fear in their eyes at this point.

I didn't make her openly panic. I didn't make her breakdown. I just had Superboy the fear in her eyes as he choked the life out of her and she realized he was about to kill her and there was nothing she could do about it. I honestly didn't think it would be such a big deal. Anyone would have fear in their eyes. But since I have clearly struck a nerve here, I will go back and change it to her staring blankly or defiantly as she feels her life fade away.

So... Apparently one can push on a force-field and make everything inside go up? LOL. I'm surprised Beast Boy didn't get singed where he touched the field.

Also, I edited my post to make Superboy's own realization that he was about to commit murder be the reason he snapped and backed off. I just decided it was best to remove any reference to Lady K's eyes, and hence forth I will never again assume a character's emotion for the sake of the scene. I think it's best we avoid having the actions or emotions of any other writer's characters involved in our posts beyond very basic or obvious things. For example, instead of me writing the villain side of a fight with a writer's character, I will only introduce the villains and make some key plot decisions as them, but the specifics of the battle will be up to each person who is fighting them. That means I throw a villain at you, and then it's your responsibility to write out your fight with them. Once a villain has been engaged by a writer's character, only that writer may dictate how that battle goes. This will prevent anyone from making assumptions or taking liberties with another writer's character.

In the case of Superboy versus Lady K, I should not have posted at all and allowed Gypsy to write out her entire fight with him and then taken control of him again once the battle had concluded. What seemed like no big deal to me was a very big deal to someone else, and the only way to make sure it doesn't happen again is to ensure writers have complete control over how their characters' fights unfold.

But for the record, here is a good example of what someone might look like when getting the life choked out of them:
