Young Justice/Teen Titans (OOC)

Or based on that you posted maybe Nightwing is in touch with the Justice League. He's always struck me as being more "mature" than Bruce. Whatever is up between him and Bats wouldn't likely mess with him and Supes or the rest of the League. Either way you decide to go this is a problem we can logic around.

Well, I hadn't really decided the specifics of why Bruce crushed his soul, but I was thinking part of it had to do with being denied membership to the League and Bats being too controlling and manipulative and just making Dick feel humiliated. But like you said, he wouldn't necessarily swear off contact with the League, but he also wouldn't contact them openly about a mission to infiltrate a government-sanctioned lab as even being contacted about something like that could put their charter at risk. That's why he specifically recruited non-League members, and why J'onn agreed to send M'gann and not come himself, though he could always just shapeshift, but then we wouldn't have a reason for M'gann to be there, haha.

And since M'gann is shown to be a bit more powerful that J'onn in the show, it's not too much of a stretch to say she may have subconsciously influenced his decision to let her go, lol. Then once she is gone and her slight influence was no longer present, he began to worry, wondering if he had made a mistake. But that part is up to Tighty, lol. Anyway, I was working on my post earlier, but then we had to go get quarters and I did my laundry. Now I'm finishing up my post. I've got a plan to get them into the complex and through security without being seen, thanks to our cute shapeshifting psychic :). Think of what Mystique did in Days of Future Past, hehehe.

Gah, sorry, it'll be along shortly. Kept having to stop to look up things about the air force stuff in the Mojave Desert to try and make this as genuine as possible, haha.

Fucking finally! Post is done, I'm just looking for an image for the mutants they are fighting and then it will be up, lol.

That was really awesome, Jeff.

I didn't expect the visual reference!

Sorry that my reply touched on so many timeframes, I hope it wasn't too confusing.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it :). I'm surprised it came together so well since a good part of it I was struggling to stay awake to finish, lol. As soon as it was up I ate and passed the fuck out. I haven't had a chance to read the IC yet, but I'll try tonight -- its a pretty slow night at work.

Okay, I read it. Awesome post, Chas :). Also, if anybody is wondering, the freaky guy is the second Greed from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The guy in the RP is similar -- the black material is a hyper-durable carbon fiber that makes him very hard to injure. A good hammer-slam will still rattle his cage, though, lol. Just don't let him be defeated too easy.

In the manga and second anime, Father used several Philosopher Stones to create artificial humans to embody his sinful qualities. Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Pride, Wrath, Greed I (Killed by Wrath), Greed II, and Sloth.

I posted a reply. Let me know if I overstepped any boundaries.

I recognized greed. I'm a big fan of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Yay! *super otaku glomp* FMA: Brotherhood is my second favorite anime of all time, right behind Sword Art Online, which is my No. 1. I watched every episode of both SAO and FMA:B during multi-day anime binges, lol. SAO only took me like four or five days since it was short, but FMA:B took me a few days extra since it is like 61 episodes or something. I forgot the exact count. But I watched it beginning to end within a week, lol.

Btw, I love that gif -- Izumi is such a badass. And I love how her husband and Armstrong become "Twinkling Muscle Buddies," lol.

Wait, Lily, so what happened there?

Steel knocked "Greed" into Tigress and both of them into the zombies?

:/

That was certainly... unintended.

I started to watch it, but hadn't realized it was a relaunch/retelling of the same story as before and decided I wasn't up for that at the time. (Okay, really I didn't want to have to deal with them possibly killing Major Hayes a second time or the reaction between Mustang and Winry when she discovers his role in what happened to her parents---if that was kept the same.)

Well, the first anime series happened before the manga was complete, and Brotherhood follows the manga version, so the second half of Brotherhood is different than the second half of the original anime. The original anime created its own content once it caught up with the manga at that time.

Also, this is one of Brotherhood's funniest scenes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHNWGXOmQZY

I know, I just thought it would be fun. :)

I can dig it.

And my girl's still a rookie, she's not gonna be perfect 24/7.

But oh Lord is she gonna be pissed at herself later. Serious self-flagellation. She could easily have street-pizzaed Artemis just then.

I thought of it as a failure in teamwork. We are probably going to run into one another a lot before we gel.

Don't worry, Tigress will be right there with you on the self flagellation.

Yeah, this is a logical extension of our being a quickly-assembled team without time to train together or bond.

I'll try to post tonight and have Natasha try to help Tigress against Greed and the zombies, leaving the other Titans to deal with the othern newly-arrived Sins.

if that's okay with everyone?

Sure. I will make another post tomorrow morning having Nightwing battle some of the baddies, and then once everyone has had a chance to make a post or two of fighting, I'll bring in Wrath, Pride, Sloth and another wave of zombies as well as the awakened Superboy. Yes, our characters are going to be overwhelmed, haha.

The Sins and the zombies are actually the genomorphs of this world. While Superboy is based on an existing genetic structure and is thus a clone, the others were designed from the ground up, making them essentially organic androids. This same type of science also ties into the Vertigo project, which will be revealed in-story, hehehe.

I dig this.

I also dig that this dovetails with the magic-lite version of The DCU, as The Seven Deadly Enemies of Man are usually mystical Shazam villains.

Not so awesome we're overwhelmed, but that again reinforces our rookie status.

I say overwhelmed because I want our characters to honestly feel like they are about to lose and be captured before Superboy takes their side.
