Young Justice/Teen Titans (OOC)

BTW, if anyone is curious about how durable the Sins are, here the final fight against Lust that ended in Roy Mustang blasting her with fire over and over again until she couldn't regenerate anymore. This scene was pretty brutal, and Mustang's intent to make Lust suffer borders on villainous, lol.

So, Mr Mustang, how many flamebursts does it take to get to the center of an homonculus?

I dunno. Let's find out.

:D:rolleyes:;)

So don't worry about hurting these things because you can't. Also if we're using Young Justice as a base Superboy doesn't get heat vision at all, at least not with out Lex hooking him up with those slappers. He just got strength and durability and not a lot of those. He seemed to have been just slightly stronger than Bane.

And yeah, if we're gonna make a habit of this Star may need a minor upgrade.

Yeah, if animated!YJ is our primary source material, the answer to my question is "never." But we're making variations on the theme, and plenty of them, and comics!Kon-El eventually developed heat vision in a few incarnations. So it's a possible, unless Jeff says otherwise.

Yeah, animated!Conner only ever seemed able to withstand Mammoth-- who was Bane and Blockbuster put together-- but I can't remember if he ever actually beat Mammoth without slappers.

Additionally, while we don't want to overuse it as a deus-ex-machina crutch, Steel's tech-savvy is available for people who want to augment their abilities.

For the RP, through, we can say he just enjoys eating any living being, but he kills them first before he eats them. As for his powers, we can say he's obviously got enhanced strength and durability, but it is definitely not beyond him to bite down on tails and limbs, haha. We could also say his tongue can stretch and act like a tentacle or something. What did you have in mind?
I enjoyed his ability to eat anything at all.

If we are avoiding the pocket dimension, can we just say that he has a very dangerous bite, and his stomach is capable of dissolving most forms of solid matter?

That way he can "chew the scenery" a bit. :p

There are lots of Superboys with vastly different power sets. I happen to find the slappers interesting and a good way to move the plot around a bit since Superboy very quickly became very dependent on those things.

As for upgrading I think I can finagle a way to up Star's powers a bit without breaking him. And it depends on how often we end up in high tier fights like this. I'm just saying after watching that video of lust, Star would have a hard time believably not getting killed in direct combat and nothing in his current arsenal has the raw power to put something like that down and make it stick. Which is fine some of the time, sure Batman gets away with it but half the reason Batman gets away with it is bringing an ever escalating arsenal to the battle.

But I think for the moment Star might just mention we might want to do more recon work in the future so he knows if this is a fight you bring a bat to or a fight you bring megaton hammer too. Not that he has a megaton hammer but still.

You can always work Star's apparent mortality into your plot, much like Iron Man 3 involved Tony Stark dealing with the sudden concept of his own mortality, could work for a Star too?

"Upping your game" is one of my favorite character arcs.

Our team, faced with a powerful foe, has to train harder, get better gear, learn team tactics.

Star has these skills from self discovery. What will he gain when he studies martial arts with nightwing, and weapons with Tigress, gets ninja gear with nightwing and steel tech in it.

Know what I mean?

Having a diverse set of skills to adapt to a plethora of circumstances > Raw power, anyway. But having both is even better. Having an extra teammate always helps tilt the scales a bit. There aren't too many powerful and skilled characters but when you do see one, they're truly a sight to behold. The most dangerous combination you'll find. Add ontop a willingness to "handle" business , you can't go wrong there.

While I would argue there are a fair amount of characters with skill and strength I do see your point. We'll see how this plays out. I just don't want to be the Batman since I didn't really spec for it. There is nothing better for him to do while the real powers fight. He can't hack the computer or mix the chemicals that are needed for a cure or all the other bullshit that never ceases to pop up when Bats is just in too deep.

I'd rather just borrow the chick who wields it for a little while. Someone fucking post goddamnit!

Pfffft. Such a sweet-talker on Valentine's Day.

I've PMed Lily to see which way she wants to go with Tigress, if she wants to post next or have me go again.

I think the rest of us are giving Jeff a chance to do a Nightwing thing.

Sorry, post is coming shortly. The weekend has been fucking crazy at the hotel, lol. Finally home and on my two days off. Gonna post, then make some cheesy Alfredo flatbread pizzas and watch more "Orange is the New Black." This show is so awesome, lol.

And as for Star; he hasn't fully tapped into his Nth necklace thing yet, right? Maybe a near-death experience is exactly what he needs to unlock his true potential. Go the fucking Saiyan route -- bitch gets stronger after each crippling defeat, lol. That necklace is your Nine Tails, you just haven't learned how to use its chakra outside of life or death situations yet ;).

Okay. I posted. I'm going to try and post at least once more over my days off. I almost wrote myself into a corner with the whole Security Control Room thing, but a quick edit saved it, haha.

BTW, Natasha is going to have fun with Dr. Arthur Light, another Cadmus scientist who has designed his own battle armor suit. Can you say arch nemesis? :) :) :).

He'll eventually get more powers, I'll have to gauge what's going on. I'm thinking that as he taps into more power he develops something similar to the first grade Sharingon. Which is basically just slowed perception so he can push himself and see at increasingly quick speeds. It's important to note that as Sasuke vs Rock Lee demonstrates just because Star could potentially see Superman or the Flash coming there is a world of difference between Man he's coming at me at eight hundred miles an hour and being able to move your body quickly enough to do more than go "FUCK MY LIFE." And then maybe something like the eight gates from Rock where he eventually learns how to make the Nth Metal Necklace trick his body into pushing past his limits. It fucks him up because we have those limiters for a good reason but if you need ten minutes of absolute whoop ass you can have it. . .just remember he's gonna be worthless for the next month or more so it had better be the final hazard.

Wait. . .electocuting zombies works? I woudl have expected that to make them faster! I hope we get to fight these guys again because this looks like the sort of team that we could build on.

Why would an electric shock that makes muscles spasm make them faster? LOL.

Because that's almost always how it works in fiction. It either gives them a jolt of energy that just makes them faster and sometimes temporarily smarter or it has zero effect. Especially the Frankenstien breed who despite being alive in the novel and not even the villain that's been lost for so long that it's barely worth mentioning. It ranks up there with sunlight being a weakness to vampires has it's roots in a a 1920's movie called Nosferatu. Dracula was weaker in sunlight sure but it wasn't burst into flames.

Course that's for undead zombies not the current breed running around fiction that are various levels of alive. I'm not complaining mind you, just observing something that makes me go "huh". Like seeing Superman with a sword.

I'd completely forgotten the Raikage gave Sasuke sama an electric power bomb. That was around when that show forgot it wasn't Dragon Ball. It gets worse in the Great Ninja War. I think it can best be summed up with the following.

Every ninja on the planet figured if they attacked Madara Uchia aat the same time they could take him. They were wrong, they were so very, very wrong.

I think it's Frankensteins that get pumped up by electroshock, not zombies.

Granted, I'm not hugely fluent in zombie fiction, but that's still never a thing I've seen.

I would think that the heat effects and the mechanical disruptions to the neuromuscular structure would have a significantly deleterious effect on your average animated corpse, considering that fire and blunt force tend to be the ways to take them down. Maybe it wouldn't one-shot them, but it would wear them down maybe?

Plus, in The Buffyverse people tasered Angel and Spike all the time and it would knock them out. Makes sense though, dead nerves still conduct electricity, that's still gotta hurt.

I've seen lots of crossover on zombies, mummies and Frankenstiens. Like a lot of authors either make little or no distinction. (And really why should they, not all Mummies are ancient wizard priests and the difference between Frankie and zombies tends to be how they were animated.)

I concur that it's logical that the head would have some effect on the zombies. Though nearly universally dead zombies can only be killed by destroying the brain. Walking Dead makes a point of having a bunch of charred zombies that apparently walked straight through a fire without giving a shit. Given they are specifically drawn to noise they probably do that A LOT more than we see.

As for Buffy and Angel those fuckers couldn't make up their mind and have so many gaffs on what vampires can and can't take it's not even funny. Tasers take down Spike and Angel just fine. But when Gwen Raiden (electric thief) who is exlicitely damn near a lightning bolt in power shocks Angel it makes his heart beat. . .and apparently gets him horny. Spike once CHOKED out Drusila (which still could potentially work by preventing blood to the brain) but Angel tries this on Darla a few seasons later and she just laughs pointing out vampires don't breathe.

Also Ivo being in charge is bad. Mostly cus as I remember in addition to being completely morally bankrupt he's also fairly incompetent most of the time. I mean sure he's one of the smartest people in the world but he's the guys who'll fuck up. Like in Justice League (Granted they clearly retconned him between his first and second appearance) but wasn't Doomsday Ivo's attempt at cloning Superman? That's a pretty huge fuck up.

Ivo: You don't look like Superman. Can you fly? Super Speed? Laser eyes.
Doomsday: I hit hard and exterminate all life.
Ivo: You mean you follow orders?
Doomsday: NOPE.

Which on an aside is why I'm less afraid of Doomsday than evil Supes. Having Doomsday on the planet is soemthing like having a traveling natural disaster. You could go years without seeing him and even if he does show he doesn't care about you. Evil supes is like having an angry god.
