Young Justice/Teen Titans (OOC)

Oh, and the Sins are pretty upset at Conner for ditching them, as he was supposed to be their leader once his training was complete. So you can expect all seven of them to come hunting him down at some point and they will be very angry at the Titans for stealing their Great Leader, hehehe.

If he's supposed to be one of them, his code name should be wrath. With his power, and temper he would make a better wrath than Bradley.

Hey, guys.

I think I'm subscribing to a different RP fight-scene writing style.

I'm used to having my character attempt a hit or move or whatever, and then having the mod (or the opposing player) tell whether it hits and what their person does next, and then vice versa.

Do we get to say that our hits hit the baddies, kind of on an honor system where we don't godmode all the baddies to the floor? Is that how it works in this thread?

Good question, I'm not sure how Jeff prefers to handle it, actually. I think it has usually been mostly an honor system sort of thing (like kids playing cops 'n' robbers), but a lot of these threads haven't gone much past an initial battle scene, so I'm unsure.

Superboy as Wrath. That sounds cool, but then we can't battle the Seven Sins because one of them will be on our side. Unless maybe Superboy is the first Wrath and then after he defects, there is a new Wrath.

And yeah, its always been an honor system. We are all co-writers and tell the story together. I dish out villains and people can control the baddies they are fighting and write out the fights.

Okay, I can work with that. Good to know!

If Superboy is Wrath and he ditches The Sins, then Match could be the replacement Wrath?

Maybe seeing the "S" on Nat's chest rattles some genetic memory loose and Conner remembers more of who he's supposed to be?

Maybe he sees the S like you said, M'gann notices, and floods his mind with images of all the good things Superman has done or something.

Yeah, she could maybe attach an emotional component to Superboy's programmed knowledge of Superman? Kind of like Kaldur did with a whispered pep-talk on Earth-16. That could be good.

I think I'll let Lily determine if Steel's current efforts are enough for her to help Tigress get out of that greedy zombie dogpile, and then from now on I'll let the hits fall where they may.

We were running errands today and I didn't have a chance to post before I had to go to bed, but once I get home from work I'll write up a battle post for Nightwing which may also help visualize how to detail a fight scene.

Also, just so all my co-writers know, until the Manager changes it again, my schedule should be Tuesday through Saturday with Sundays and Mondays off for the foreseeable future. Those five nights a week I work 11pm-7am Eastern Time.

Jeff, how high are the ceilings in the hallway we're in?

Just in case Steel needs to get a little taller.

It does appear that all hell has broken loose...

Sorry I've been slow to reply, I've just been incredibly busy over the last few days, I have next week off though so should be posting more regularly :).

I've always done sort of an honour system in this sort of RP personally. Just easier I guess, usually the unnamed stuff can be kind of mowed down, but the super villains can take more than a few hits, and usually their final defeat involves the mod stepping in.

I look at it kinda like Mass Effect or Dragon Age -- the companion characters will fight on their own without my input. You don't have to wait for me to roll the die for criticals or saving throws, you can just write out the battle. I got distracted again today and didn't post, lol. I had to get caught up on this week's episodes of my shows. I am SO happy Walking Dead is back, plus I have Star Wars: Rebels, Gotham, Agent Carter, Flash, Arrow, and Constantine each week.

Hey, Sean, just a thing.

I don't want to nitpick, I'm just trying to reconcile this in my head.

Did Star kick Greed in the head before Steel knocked Greed hurtling into Tigress with her hammer, or is he going to kick Greed in the head once Greed emerges from the pile of Greed, zombies, and Tigress that Steel just peppered with sonic blasts?

I have an awesome idea for two backup characters. One is a fusion of Atom and Captain Atom -- Palmer Technologies swoops in after the Titans blow the top off Cadmus, and Ray Palmer inadvertently blows himself up Doctor Manhattan-style and gains some sort of atomic/nuclear energy power.

My second character idea is for a revision of John Diggle from Arrow as a back-up Lantern for Hal Jordan, though at first he's Ray Palmer's bodyguard and head of security.

Oh, and I've been thinking of how to incorporate their team name into the story, and there is really only one perfect way -- there is media attention on the team after Cadmus, and when asked if their team has a name, Beast Boy says to the reporters, "Dudes! We're the Teen Titans! You got that? T-E-E-N, T-I-T-A-N-S. That's us! Teen Titans, GO!" and everyone else on the team facepalms, hahahaha.

It's fine to nitpick if there is genuine confusion. As long as you dont' start correcting my grammar we'll be cool.

I edited for clarity, it's after he emerges. Good catch.

You mean like pointing out how you put the apostrophe for "don't" in the wrong place? ;).

Well that's just a typo. I know where to put the apostrophe, I just missed. I also have a rather annoying habit of capitalizing the first two letters of a sentence and spelling the 'teh' because that's just the order I hit the keys in. I at least usually catch the spelling of the before I'm too far along.

Speaking of clarity...is Gluttony sort of like Matter-Eater Lad from LSH in that he can eat anything and, thus, I prolly don't want to actually let him get his mouth around any part of me or is it just that he will eat anything edible, but he can't just bite down and tear through things like spiked carapaces, armor, heavy duty cartilage, and/or bone? Have something in mind, but wanted to check before attempting to post.

Thanks, Jeff.

Well, in the anime and manga, Gluttony literally had another dimension in his stomach -- In Brotherhood, Ed and Envy both get swallowed up for an episode or too. Gluttony was angry though because Mustang killed Lust, so that may have influenced his power. For the RP, through, we can say he just enjoys eating any living being, but he kills them first before he eats them. As for his powers, we can say he's obviously got enhanced strength and durability, but it is definitely not beyond him to bite down on tails and limbs, haha. We could also say his tongue can stretch and act like a tentacle or something. What did you have in mind?

Okay, sweet. Thank you!

I am kind of a grammar queen, but I respect that everyone has their mode of expression and that eloquence isn't restricted to the rules and regs of a language.

But goddamn if I can't stand it when people leave the hyphen out of "Spider-Man."

BTW, if anyone is curious about how durable the Sins are, here the final fight against Lust that ended in Roy Mustang blasting her with fire over and over again until she couldn't regenerate anymore. This scene was pretty brutal, and Mustang's intent to make Lust suffer borders on villainous, lol.

Roy tends to border on villainous in attitude anyway; I think it's a by-product of being a flame oriented alchemist.
