I don't use any special software. You can do what I do with freeware.

Daz3D is the main software for 3D modeling of both characters and scenes. For image editing Photoshop is the best, but you can use GIMP which is free. Finally, for everything regarding the comics composition you can use any office suite. There are specific tools, but I use Powerpoint. You can use a freeware as well, Libre Office.
