You gotta admit that the 200th episode was hilarious

I think Stargate just secretly hates medical doctors. Hehe.

And yeah, 200 was hilarious. I think the Ori storyline of Seasons 9 and 10 actually had a lot of promise, until Sci-Fi cancelled the show; hopefully the wrap-up movie will do it justice.

I was so glad they had Ba'al so involved. And he will be in the movie.

Anyone else into Torchwood?

Love the show...Obsess over it.

Hehe, I guess the only post I mde on this thread was way back to perve on pixie.

HUGE SciFi/Fantasy fan, reader thinking of getting into writing in my old age.

Star Trek started it all when I was but wee lad of 6, used to watch it in the afternoon after school, I don't know why but that is when it was hown back in like 1970 where i lived at like 4:00 in the afternoon.
I think all of the Franchise are done well for the premises they were designed to address, My favorite of all of them was DS9, but that only because I was a huge Avery Brooks fan from when he was on Spencer for Hire.

Been a Dr. Who fan for decades, I have seen almost all of them from their beginnings, JOhn Pertwee and all of the old British actors that they found to play him, my all time favorite episode of the original would hav eto be The Seven Doctors

I have Firefly on DVD and Serenity, sat one day when I was feeling ill and watched all four discs, then Serenity after, still some loose ends there which I hope someone decides is worth exploring either in more feature length films, original made for SCI FI movies or something.

Since my teens I hav ebeen an avid Sci Fi fantasy reader, and hav ean extensive collection of books, I have first and second editions of most of the early Star Trek novels, Battletech novels and a large number of Asimov, Pournelle, adn others. But I have to say my most admired author would have to be Robert Heinlein.

I think the New Dr. Who rocks, there was a movie a few years ago, I rented and watched, don't remember if it was maybe the pilot of the new one or what.

Torchwood is my favorite new series absolutely, BBC America, CH 171 on Time Warner here. :) Capt. Jack is terriffic, in his too Dr. like behavior.
Hmmmmm, did I miss anything, probably and ther eis a lot more i have watched and seen all of two or three times over on The SciFI Channel, Roswell, most of Andromeda which is one of my next DVD collection purchases as soon as I can. I like SciFI, weekdays 8 hours straght of the same show most of the time, Monday Enterprise from 7 - 11,occasional movie marathons.

Spike TV is also a big contributor, weekdays they show TNG, adn Voyager, and at Midnight you get a Voyager and a DS9

CBS, Ghost Whisperer, adn the New show Moonlight looks promising although I see shades of Forever Knight in the first couple of episodes, another of my faves, can get it occasionally on Sci Fi as well.

Oh yeah, adn Highlander I've probably seen almost all of it in Syndication, some of them sucked bad with crappy plots but they carried the series off well for the few years that it was on.

I Guess that's all for now...............

Waiting for the BG movie in November.

Definitely a fan of Stargate, Doctor Who, Dead Like Me, old episodes of the Twilight Zone, pretty much everything on Sci-Fi channel....... (except for those horrible made-for-TV movies)

SF fan? is that the question here?

The Answer, beyond 42 and life and the universe and everything, is YES.

I've watched and read almost everything that is included in this thread, Started with the reading, from old Issac Asimov to Heinlein to Phillip K Dick to Ursula K. LeGuin to David Weber to David Drake to Glen Butcher.

Liked STorig for its time, Next Gen was Ok, DS9 was interesting for the "you will be Federation, whether you like it or not" themes, FireFly, shrug Westerns in space, same for Star Wars, didn't really think the writing was that good. Enjoyed the hell out of Babylon 5, both for characters and for a good visual. Big fan of the Stargate movie and series and spinoffs, although they sometimes have just too silly a writing crew for me.

Current interests in SF are the Dresden novels, and the show is ok, but... ;-)

Conventions across Canada and the US, for Fantasy, SF, Horror and Anime. Started a couple and chaired a couple.. Cons are fun... I recomend them highly.

I watched the premiere of The Dresden Files but couldn't really get past the way his deadly enemy had become a lover and his blasting rod had been transmuted into a hockey stick.

But then, I still haven't gotten over what Wesley Snipes and company did to Blade.

Yeah, guilty, too! :D Huge sci-fi fan, right now seriously jonesing for Battlestar Galactica to restart on Sci Fi channel. Always thought that the best sci fi was character-driven, rather than "Ooh, look at the pretty effects and cool stuff". Unfortunately, not a ton of that on these days, although Bionic Woman is starting to look like a winner. The last three SW movies were very uneven, except for a couple of bright spots, like the scene in the last one where Anakin decides to become evil and go rescue Palpatine. The whole scene had the majesty of a slow-motion car crash...you knew what was coming, but it was fascinating to watch. :)

Okay, officially a sci-fi geek, so sue me.

re

I gave Bionic Woman a chance, only cause I'm a Sci-fi guy, only made it through 2 episodes, didn't feel like anything special.

I thought it was okay....the only things going for it are Katie Sackoff, and the fact that it's a lot edgier than the original. Oh, and there's crap on that night for TV... :D

Hey all, back for a moment.

So now I have a new obsession for fav show. Has to be heroes. It's addicting

re

I know there are a lot of BSG fans on this thread so I thought you could help me with a question. I was watching the finale again, who sings the song at the end when the battle is about to begin and Starbuck pulls up beside Apollo? Is it a U2 remix?

Who is hotter ??

7 of 9 from voyager

or

T-Pol from Enterprise

I'm having a "hard time" deciding

I'm a voyager fan and always have been

so I say 7 of 9

Which companion of The Doctor is the best

Rose Tyler
Martha Jones
Capitan Jack Harkness
K-9
Sarah Jane Smith
Romana
Adric
Ace
Peri Brown

I've been a big sci-fi fan for as long as I can remember. The shows that started it all were Quantum Leap, Xena: Warrior Princess and Sliders. I never got into Star Trek or Stargate SG-1, but my friends enjoy them. Nowadays my shows of choice are Doctor Who, Torchwood and X-Files reruns.
