ok.. I give up what are Zoids? :p

It's an old Anime show that has a really killer toy line(I don't know which came first, the models or the shows). They're big ass robotic animals with guns and other types of weaponry.

Sci fi is a great love of mine, and has been since I first watched Star Trek when I was 6. My favourites are Star Trek, Stargate, Doctor Who (& Torchwood), and Firefly.

Well...hmmm...

In print:
Dune, by Frank Herbert
A Fire Upon The Deep by Vernor Vinge
Doorways In The Sand by Roger Zelazny

On TV:
The first four season of Stargate SG-1. When it moved to sci-fi channel, it promptly jumped the shark. Granted, there was still a good episode here and there, but it just lost something. It jumped the shark again, this time permanently, when Richard Dean Anderson left. I for one will be happy if it gets to retire with a little dignity.

Kyle XY. A great show on the ABCFamily channel. Imagine a teenager that's a complete blank slate - he has no knowledge of anything... Only he's infinitely smarter than everyone else in the world. The show is all about him experiencing the world for the first time, learning to speak in four hours, having to deal with high school, learning to play basketball, having to deal with girls (his first erection is hilarious). You should be able to see the episodes here, there's a link for full episodes.

Heroes If you're a comic book fan, don't miss it. If you aren't, check out the first half-season on the net somwhere - you'll probably like it.

On the Big Screen:
Star Wars (though, after the last three movies, I want Lucas to feel the pain of having some childhood memory of his being publicly raped and spat upon, like mine was.)

Galaxy Quest - just because I hate everyone that goes to a Sci-Fi convention in a bad costume, everyone that thinks they can speak Klingon, and everyone that can't appreciate sci-fi just as entertainment and tries to actually live it.

and a long list of others: Westworld (screw Arnold as a killer robot, Yule Brenner is scarrier), The Day the Earth Stood Still (great film, not just a great sci-fi film), A Clockwork Orange (up for a little of the ol' in-out?), Alien, Contact - the list goes on

...Oh, and whoever asked about Dark City earlier in the thread - yeah, it's great. One of the better movies of the genre recently. Though the end is kinda weak, the rest of the movie is great. Go. Watch. Enjoy.

I was ready to stop watching SG-1 completely when Richard Dean Anderson left, but I figured I'd give it a try since I really likes Ben Browder from Farscape. He's actually done a pretty good job. Yes, he's no MacGyver, but he's still pretty good.

I do agree that it's about time to wrap the series up though. Every season they have to save the galaxy again. This time it's gods/ascended beings... what next!?!?

I've enjoyed Heroes, but it took a while to hook me. I kept coming back because it looked like it had potential, now to see if they can develop it.

On the Star Wars front I'm so glad that Lucas re-released the original trilogy (unaltered) on DVD. They're the only versions I watch now. All that updating and "How I originally wanted it" from Lucas was crap!

Here are a few more great classics:
The Thing From Another World (1951) with James Arness as "The Thing"
The Blob (1958)

Well, aside from Fascape, I would have to say....

TV: Star Trek: TNG

Books: Anything by Asimov. Especially the Robots lines of books.

Movies: Can't go wrong with the original Star Wars Trilogy, or the middle of the series, stories were made for 9 Episodes after all.

Though over all, I'm more of a Fantasy fan, particularly anything to do with dragons. Though Weis and Hickman are two of the greatest Fantasy writers I have come across, especially the Dragonlance series, up to Dragons of Summer Flame anyways.

The exact same reason that I stayed on watching SG-1, with both Browder and Black joining on. I'm a major 'Scaper so nice to see them back on together! Shame that it's all coming together and hope we get to see the pair working together again.

I also like Atlantis, the Battlestars (new one is slowly winning me over) and of course Star Wars!

Episode 200 was funny, of SG-1 that is. I especially like the Farscape part.

I really enjoyed the Wizard of Oz part although the puppets were a bit disturbing
