Books they should make into movies.

He looks so young! I like him better with age...and some scruff.

Yeah, but Jamie's young. He has the sense of humor and delivery to do it.

I can't remember the age Jamie is in the first book, but both he and Claire age. The actor would have to begin the series at least young-ish, and age with it. I'd like to see a series of movies, big screen, not a miniseries. After checking for the link, I noticed that Diana Gabaldon's home page states that someone had picked up the rights to film it, but as a miniseries, and those rights have since expired.

Josh Lucas would be my choice to look at, and the voice is certainly there, but the accent is sadly missing.

I'm pretty sure he's 24 when it starts.

This might be because I've read the first book...uh...a lot of times.

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. As long as it isn't niceyfied by Hollywood.

Ender's Game by Orsan Scott Card

or

The Warriors Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold

- Both my wife and I enjoyed both these series -

A Confederacy of Dunces.

ugh...I didn't get this book at all. Ignatius always reminded me of The Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons.

I have to say some of the scenes in Thomas Covenant could be pretty powerfull on the movie screen so Id like to see that one as well.

Apparently, "Ender's Game" is currently being made into a movie.

Ender's Game at IMDb.com

Although I'm not too happy with the choice of the director. And I say that being a german myself.

I was thinking that something by Piers Anthony. Although I'm not sure the Xanth novels would translate very well to the big screen. Maybe the Tarot series? A book that questions what the nature of religion. Seems like a good idea to me.

Incarnations of Immortality would be fun. I'd like to see Satan's life. Okay, I had a crush on Satan.

So does that mean you will be playing Lilah?

Starship Troopers. And dont tell me its already been filmed, becouse that excuse for a movie isnt exactly what I would call truthfull to the book. No gorilla-suits, no History and Moral Philosofy and so on. And the Arachnids were YELLOW, for Christs sake!

I'd love to see "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls"

Huh? Is that in SST? Or is it another book?

Same author as "Starship Troopers", Robert Heinlein. I'd love to see "Stranger In a Strange Land" done also.

Ah! The only Heinlein book I´ve read is Troopers. And I cant really say I sympezise (sp.) with all of the wiev in the book. But hey, the story is kinda neat.

Isnt there another book-serie called "Forever war", that is somewhat an answer on Heinleins joly wiev of soldiering and killing?

I don't know what "wiev" means.

I've never heard of "Forever War"

I don't know what joly means here, but if you mean "jolly view" I don't get that from his writing. He was in the armed services, and he was a science fiction writer, "Starship Troopers" was supposed to be for kids.

Job, dammit. A Comedy of Justice.

That's the one I loved the most by him. Which reminds me, I should get another copy.

(Edited: It'd probably help if I had the title right)
