No freaking kidding.

And my first book girlie crush was with Marta. (Marta? It's been a while.)

Margrethe.

She was awesome. I love Friday, too.

A way prettier name than Marta.

Friday was the second book that I've read by him. It was better than most stuff I've read, but didn't hold a candle to Job, IMO.

The sequal is good... but its gets kinda weird... the side thread novels are better.

The first book of his I read was Enchantment. Did you read that one? That could actually make a good Sci. Fi./Fantasy movie too.

I have not - Fantasy I am guessing... I read his Alivin Journyman series (quite good) which is fantasy...

Thanks for the suggestion.

"Faerie Tale" by Raymond Feist would be great.

Just discovered him... I was at the book store and under the section "If you like Harry Potter you should read...." I am currently reading his Magician:Master - holy cow its good... could not be made into a movie but its really awesome.

I don't know what "wiev" means.

I've never heard of "Forever War"

I don't know what joly means here, but if you mean "jolly view" I don't get that from his writing. He was in the armed services, and he was a science fiction writer, "Starship Troopers" was supposed to be for kids.
The words you dont know are just regular misspells.

Forever War is written by an author that was in the Vietnam war, wich is reflected in the books, I have been told.

The man (Heinlein) describes an interstellar war as it was a african hunting safari with cooler weapons and spaceships. I mean, yes, there are some philosofy-discussions, but mostly on the fact that a person must sacrifice him/herself for the greater good to be able to vote.

But what about the mental effects on being in war with an alien race that looks like big spiders? Its just a bit much White mans burden over it.

But if it is a kids book, alot is explained. Allthough I didnt get that impression when I read it, or discussed it with others that also did (wich does not mean your wrong).

Since we have the rest of the greats of fantasy might as well add Terry Brooks.

I think his latest Running with a Demon book would make a good movie.

or you could pick your favorite Shannara series. The Landover series is really good too.

Like the topic says. What books do you think would make a great movie.

My personal wish is they made David Eddings trilogy the Elenium into movies.

They aren't consider his best work but I think they would fit extremely well in the movie genre. Its basically a high fantasy where the books starts with a princess being poisoned and her knight protector returns to save her. If you never read it and your into fantasy books you should give it a read.

I did recently see the movie peaceful warrior which I really liked. Its based on the book and was a pretty decent movie.

So what book do you think would make a great movie?

So far

The Elenium Trilogy by David Eddings
"Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon
Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter. by Laurell K. Hamilton
A Confederacy of Dunces.
Ananzi Boys, by Neil Gaimon.
The Alienist by Caleb Carr
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R. Donaldson.
Ender's Game by Orsan Scott Card
Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony
"The Cat Who Walks Through Walls" by Robert Heinlein
Job A Comedy of Justice by Robert Heinlein
(might as well add Stranger in a Strange Land and Friday)
"Faerie Tale" by Raymond Feist
Running with a Demon by Terry Brooks

Ok I totally agree with you on the Elenium not his best work (I just finished the Belgariad and Mallorean for like the 20th time, GAWD I love those) But for the Elenium I think rather than a movie maybe a mini series on like sci-fi that way it could be big enough so as to not leave out the important plot points.

re

Dean Koontz- The Bad Place

Extremely dark and twisted, I think it would be great.
