Yes the old loving wives thingy, always been a joke, they should have gone the whole hog and re-named it 'cheating fuck bucket sluts'. Loving wives my arse.
There's only one badly needed category missing from Lit, 'Tales with a twist'. Non category items with maybe a public health warning that 'anything' could reside within.
I have a couple of blurbs written a while back that have a particularly evil twist towards the end, or should I say a shock revelation. No point posting them here, the twist is ruined as soon as the story gets categorised, pointless excercise expecting people to be that bloody stupid they can't work it out from the category what happens in the end.

That wouldn't work, Pops. The only way a twist works is when it's unexpected. If you know there is going to be one there, you will be expecting it and won't be surprised. "Cheating Fuck Bucket Sluts" might be a bit over the top but something should change.

That wouldn't work, Pops. The only way a twist works is when it's unexpected. If you know there is going to be one there, you will be expecting it and won't be surprised. "Cheating Fuck Bucket Sluts" might be a bit over the top but something should change.

Yes friend but it would get people interested in looking for the twist, and work a lot better than trying to finish up with an unexpected event in a category that screamed, "This is going to happen" from the start.
ie: mother and son incest, guy screwing mummy, but all through the tale nobody is told she's mummy, just that Elmer is shagging Clair. With of course appropriate descriptive 'bucket fucking' narrative, until the very last paragraph, when she says, "Come on love we best get dressed before you father gets home". See my point, how the fuck could you fool anyone with that placed in the 'Incest category'.

I see what you mean but if it was in the anal or E/C category, nobody would be expecxting the twist until they got to the last line. Maybe if you mentioned the age difference, it could be mature, but not incest until the very end. If it is in a "twist" category, people might be watching for the twist instead of concentrating on wanking or frigging like they are supposed to be doing.

I've tried to choose my categaory for several of my stories, they've all wound up where the site wanted to put them, rather than where I've asked for them to go.

You've a point of course, the point being also, where would it all end. The list of categories would be longer than the member list eventually. A little more flexibilty is all that's needed really I suppose, cheating wife stories could easily go into "Erotic couplings" without causing offence to the weak willed.

I like "Loving Wives" just the way it is. I *like* the double entendre, the irony (there you go 'dita) and the open-endedness. You can 'play around' with a catergory like this.
I have a story about a woman and her husband who are planninng a three-some but it doesn't quite pan out. By puting it in "Loving Couples" I was able to expect that readers would assume that it would- and yet even though it didn't it still fit in the category. If I had put it in group sex- it wouldn't belong there. Nor would it go into cheating wives, and it would also be out of place in "Erotic Couplings" I prefer inclusive categories- and really only favor new categories for stories that can't really be put anywere else. IN that case, I suppose "N/C reluctance" is ok- but I prefer the non-PC, simply non-consent.
I like the idea of a historical category, bc. the only place you could really put a historical story now is "Novels/Novellas" unless it has a certain 'angle'
I like the idea of "Oral" (and I also like "Bisexual") for stories which specifically focus on oral sex (not just those that feature it) although, it could be placed under "Fetish" for me, I don't consider oral sex to be quite kinky enough to call it a fetish in that sence. It just makes sence to me that if we have anal we'd also have oral.
I'd also really love to see a "Sex for Pay" or "Sex industry" category. (strippers, pornstars, hookers, phone sex opperaters and even authors of erotica could be found here.) Sure they can all be placed throughout- but it would make a nice grouping IMO. (More for me to read, than to write for- best soft porn "Under Cover")

AS to were I place my stories- I try to place them were I think they will get the best reception. Like, I have a lesbian story that takes place in front of a group. I think I had it under exhibition/voyer, but it doesnt' really explore that angle, so I put it in lesbian were it belongs. If I had an inter-racial non-consent, I'd probably put it under non-consent- but that really depends on the story itself. The category you put it under can really effect the votes and the feedback you get.
I have a story *Witches Rune* that has three parts. Even though mind control is a facter throughout- on part is listed under group sex, because that is more the focus in that part. Its more of a group sex story.

I know that the story I have running currently here is about to send me on another 'trial by fire' for the section I put it into. I seem to see my story from the character's view and the readers from the whole storyline and how it runs.
Loving wives...They love their husbands...and things can happen that may not seem on the surface as a 'loving' thing, but the end results are what really matters. That is why quite a few of my stories are there rather than in 'Nonconsent', 'Interracial', or other catagory. I focus on the main characters and the intent behind my writing.
