Corset Training

Corsets are my favorite. I love that restricted feeling it gives...

I wear them on just about every sexxy occasion... I never done the "corset training" But feel i have experience with them.... Defiantly having the corset too tight is not a good thing.. Start off comfortable and then make a little tighter...At first.... Once you have gotten used it (meaning next time around) wear it tighter and the go to loosen it...

As far as going dancing in it.... GO FOR IT! I love dancing in my corset! But defiantly make sure it is not tooooo tight but tight enough... and as the night goes on have someone loosen it... it the corset expands thru out the night then you don't have a good quality corset... Make sure when you purchase a corset that is fits snuggly with room to tighten it up...

People sometimes by corsets that are too big and the tie in the back gets pulled closed too much and doesn’t look good. so make sure you bye a corset that fits correctly...

Well there is my .02 cents

*nods* One of the sites I looked at recommends buying it about two to four inches smaller than your waist.

Side view...

A lot of the corsets because of the tightness won't just create a curve to your sides, but more of a curve to your back also when tightened.

This picture because of the angle makes the curve look a bit more extreme than it is. They make you stand super straight.

If you have to put on boots and shoes, put them on first! :D .. You won't be able to bend over in a professional corset because of the strong boning.

Thanks for sharing the pics and your experiences!! I get more and more interested in this each day lol

thanks for all the information - trully been a learning experience

*nods* And having good information dispells myths which are incorrect. I've found Lit to be font of good information, of course, with any board, you have to weed out the disinformation with the correct stuff...but I've found people with loads of personal experience in a lot of different areas...and I love learning about new things :)

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and pictures, Zaudika. :)

/me adds "corset training" on list of things to do

Ya know...I'm almost ashamed to admit this...I've never read the book lol

It's online now. The movie is on amazon on dvd as well. Slightly different than the book and very "70's ish" and the french is dubbed into english but worth a look.

I'm not sure if that's the same Twiggy or not Skyline .. :) I'll try to find the website that has her on it along with the information about how she can't survive without the corset.

any luck with that yet?

I spent oh about three minutes looking before I lost interest, became otherwise busy, or distracted .... I found no reliable source which could confirm Twiggy's dependency on corsets though I found plenty of proof that she seems to enjoy wearing them.

Unforunately the person who originally showed me the site is very far from being considered a friend or anything else at this point....... she was obsessed with corsetting.....

I honestly haven't taken the time to look for it yet..

I'll try to get to it at some point though. :)

I was just poking my head back in to see if there was any new information on the Twiggy myth and I got to thinking... have you guys seen the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean"? There are two instances in which the leading lady faints because her corset is too tight. I love that movie. I think I'll go as a piratess for Halloween.

Oh and Zaudika - your Twiggy myth/perhaps fact story made for good conversational fodder two nights ago. Thanks ;)

How did it become good conversational fodder?..

I spent about an hour this evening looking for the website that I'd seen before, I found some with a person named Twiggy Lawson, but I know thats not the person that I'd seen before. At this moment I'm wondering if it was a different name she had entirely..... <sigh>
It was about 5 years ago when I saw the site, when I was first curious about corsets... I remember most all the pictures were in black and white, and I remember reading about how she couldn't remain out of one for more than a couple of minutes.
Dunno what else to tell anyone about it though.. <shrug> ... I'll keep looking on and off, but its not a main motivation of mine. Someone else will have to post if they find something like it, at this point personally I'd like to see it again too.

Another thing to concider about corset training......

It's not always or even primarily about making the waist smaller (although, yes, I think an hourglass-waist is pleasing...along with other types ;) ) but about the Dominant's control even of your body. If you are instructed to wear a corset, and the Dominant is versed in the proper way to body-train, this can be one of the most intense forms of TPE that exists. Think about it ... it's not even truely ( for those who are learned) about aesthetics, but about how much control you give Him/Her. It is another level of the "game", a new boundary... "Do I trust You enough to allow you to make me do this?"..."Do I trust You enought to know you will not take it too far?"..."Do I trust that You would not allow this to go so far as to permanently harm me?"

Well interesting conversation fodder in that I had an interesting story to add to our discussion on fashion and the view on women's figure in society. I have an hourglass figure.... its just a plus size but it makes it hard to find clothes that fit because plus size clothes aren't always designed for real bodies.

thanks for the article - it was interesting. 18" seems so little. I've heard tales that Queen Elizabeth I insisted her court ladies have a 12" waist. Is that even possible? I know people were smaller back then but.... even then.

I know what you mean about clothes.. I'm more hourglass shaped myself. Interestingly enough, part of that I think was caused slightly by my corset wearing as I did it very frequently when it fit. Its a pain in the ass, if something fits one place, it doesn't fit in another.

12"?.. I dont know... seems insane... someone could probably easily circle their hands around that. Yikes. Even with the 18" its crazy to look at. If you have a soft measuring tape, make an oval thats 18" around..... amazing stuff.

I couldn't get the link to work.

The link accidently had a period put at the end of it, remove the period when you put it in your browser and it works. :)

Very nice site Imp, thank you... which corset did you get?

I got the "Summer" one. I'll try and post a pic if it doesn't look too hidious on me :D when it arrives.

"When you're wearing a corset, tightly.. your spine, and the muscles of your back basically don't have to work at all. The corset and the steel or bone ribbing does all of the work. If you take the strain of your body weight off of your frame for a certain period of time, it's a shock to your system once it's removed. The absolute, very most important thing I tell people when they're going to start wearing a professional corset that even if you have it on for 10 minutes, don't just unsnap, zip, unhook it and drop all of your body weight back onto your frame. Loosen the lacings in the back, and let your body adjust to feeling the weight of on your frame again."

me and my friends call it boddice-gasm.

I'm a ren faire person so i wear boddices for that... Mine stop at about the waist and doesn't go past, like a corset traning corset would. When i first showed "mellow yellow" to my mom, she said "That fits?" and than i started to put it on. Before i laced it she was like.. "is that suppossed to close?", and well it did.

Picture to follow...

during pirates of the carribean i snickered at the sudience menebers who laughed at the "like pain? try wearing a corset" line because i wondered how many of them have actually done it.
