I have been tantalized by corsets for some time.

While we were at the Boston Fetish fair, I was surprised at the variety of corsets available. If I were buying one, I wouldn't know where to begin.

I think if I were involved with a fem sub, I might view corset training in some respects as I do bondage under clothing. The restrictive nature of a corset would serve as a constant reminder of their servitude as well as add to appearances etc.

*nods* Rope bondage is one of my fetishes, which is why I think corsets are so appealing to me...you get the same feeling of restriction of movement and that tight feel about your body.

corsets aren't only for the body....they have neck ones and full body ones can be custom made. Talk about restriction.

I have worn a full body corset and it was similair to a straight jacket. I recall an old tv show called The Addams Family. The mother wore a very tight dress and took the tiniest steps. That is the way to move in a full body corset.

I used to love that show...Mortisha was awesome. I wonder if the actress was actually wearing a corset? *thoughts of research roll through her mind*

I guess that would be a special occassion type of corset, I don't see it's use for everyday or weekend parties. I'll have to look them up now lol

Yes, it is a form of breath play. Someone, not sure if it was on this thread or not, said just make sure to take a deep breath before the last cinche lol

I've been looking at all the sites to buy my first one and have come to the conclusion that, being the creative person I am, I want to try my hand at making it first. Even if it doesn't come out perfect, I will be aware of the craftmanship that goes into the corset I will ultimately wear.

Hmmm...I've only tried them on, from friends who own them. For me, it was physical in it's restraint, but the restraint also led to the mental aspect. It could be used as a bit of a mind fuck, I suppose.

Guess I'm not really the best one to answer lol Some of the others on the thread have worn for a long time now...so I'll bow to their experiences

For me it is very mental. If I am wearing it for me, as in going to work or out with it under clothing, it gives me a strong sense of my feminity and the power of the female in general.

If I am wearing it to please another, my mental state is different. I feel incredibly owned. The power in my mind shifts. I am still feeling very femine and desired. Yet, the power I felt when I wear it for me is given to the one I wish to please and has requested my wearing the corset. I love to be laced in by someone else.


Basically, wearing it for me...I can conquer the world.

Wearing it for Him, He can conquer me. The way I love it.

Forgive me for asking, but what makes you believe that any of it is mental.

I wore one in a play and found that I enjoyed the feeling that I was wearing something that played a great part in the discovery of women's clothing. Especially the erotic part.

I later discovered that they weren't as rare as I orginally believed and checked with my elder relatives concerning getting one.

I have several now and love each one. My late Master adored the way they looked on my body and often requested that I wear one. I have a whalebone corset which is the most valuable one that I own. Yes it is constricting but then I have great joy in having that connection to the women of the past and a link to my desires of beauty.

In some ways I guess one could say that wearing a corset was a vanilla way of bondage. Of course I doubt you would get my great-grandmother to admit that . Such subjects were not mentioned in any type of company let alone in the family's gossip.

These examples that you give are both examples of the mental aspect. Feeling a part of history is in the mind, not in the physical world.

Wow, this is a very fascinating subject. I've always loved corsets myself and this may just motivate me to actually go out and get one. (Though I do think I'd start off with a cheap lingerie one, don't want any major health risks yet!)

And I recall seeing a site somewhere that taught you how to make your own corset and sold you kits and such. I shall try to dig it up as it might interest some of you.

I thank you TNRkitect2b for helping me understand what ericviking69 might have meant by his question.

As I learn more and more of the American language and writing it. I find that what I say isn't always what I mean and the other way around.

And ShyNymph, some of the other girls here hope that you do find that site addy or even a snail mail one as they are delighted by the prospect of making one too.. after all why should just one of the 16 of us have the fun of making such a delicate item that makes us feel as a true Goddess!

Okay, I found the site that shows you how to make your own corsets. Apparently it's supposed to be easy and not that expensive for the materials.
