Not really. I'm a socialist (and I don't mean of the DSA kind, but of the Marxist/Debs kind). Trumpists don't like us, and Democrats hate us even more.

I'm also anti-Zionist, while US capitalist politics, the banking system and big business/big tech is controlled by Zionists and their lobbies. They love to fling insults of "anti-semitism" at us whenever we point this out or criticize their beloved Israel as they carry out ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Palestinian population in Gaza.

I'll be honest. I get your opinions, and beliefs. Even have a measure of respect for them. Realistically it's currently considered patriotic to allow companies to shit all over American workers, Israel is waaaaay out of bounds (to put it VERY mildly) etc.

But the thing is this isn't a normal election. You don't like Biden. Check, understood. However everything you dislike about Biden you would hate in Trump. And the reality is that every single vote for Biden matters. A stand against insanity, against Trump isn't really optional. Unless you want to fight authoritarianism instead of corporate capitalism.

Quite frankly you don't seem to get the scope of the threat we face. If you want to continue to fight for socialist ideals past this election year, vote for Biden. Unless it's acceptable to you to risk a Trump presidency which ends up putting democracy on the chopping block, and putting the ultra rich above everyone else. And yes that is the risk.

I'm glad Trump is taking a powder for a while. I need a break from the foul winds that he whips up every time he take a stage.

Hopefully, the NY case will keep him in a chair and out of earshot for eight hours daily until his appeal is rejected.
 
I’m not. I’d like him to be out there for MAGATs to see the decline. Not to shame or gloat or be insensitive to such a brutal condition, but all things trump considered, for those voters to see who they would be voting for and what they’d could look forward to if he won.

Trump's base doesn't see any decline. They only see a red hat and launch into cheers regardless of the outbursts he spues.

Wait for withdrawal pains to subside, then show the loser on stage again. Supporters may gain insight by noting the difference between what they recall from the past and now.

Trump doesn't really need to rally like he did in 2020, at least not as prolifically. Biden and the DNC will mess it up all by themselves, by Democratic attacks on democracy (i.e. stopping third party options, prosecuting Trump to make him look like a victim of the system), saying "it's a great economy" when the $ in our pockets buys less and less as time goes on, and blundering into new wars with absolute ease. Biden did front door campaigning in 2020 while Trump campaigned at rallies like a madman across the country during the Covid pandemic and George Floyd protests. Biden still won that election, but the motivating factor was anti-Trump and pro-Trump.

Jill Stein would be the best option to vote for as far as I'm concerned. She is left-wing on policies, I share her views on opposing imperialist wars, and her views on Ukraine and Gaza align closely with mine. Other people will have similar opinions about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West. Voting FOR something is what matters. If Trump wins the election, the only people who got him that victory are Trump voters themselves (as they voted for him). I'm sick to death of arrogant Democrats acting like they own the votes of people who oppose Trump, or saying "Oh, but Trump" when we point out Biden's bad policies.

I get it only too well. Don't give any credibility to the two-party system.

What democracy is there? The billionaire capitalists and bankers run society, unconditionally. That is not democracy. It is a plutocracy. Biden gives greater "order" to that system than Trump does, and that's why the big business class like Biden, especially the military-industrial complex who want all those foreign wars. Why would I want to give greater order to the status quo?

Yes we have something of a plutocracy - mostly enabled by an apathetic electorate. However it does not mean we do not have a democracy and that we have no recourse.

Try voting in an authoritarian regime.
