Halloween Stories

How about Freddy does Jason, the behind the scenes version. Maybe that should be in the celebrities catagory though.

I'm planning to do a story from R/L. I call it "The Flaming Paper Bag Full Of Shit Trick". Damn! Those were the good old days :D

Please translate, I only know 'knackered'; what does the noun mean? We're tired people? We tire you out?

Purr

"Knackers" are slaughterhouse men who kill diseased or aged horses usually to make pet food.

"Going to the knackers' yard" is a term used for horses that are no good for their previous purpose e.g. the horse you put your last 5 dollars on and saw it come last.

By transference "knackered" equals only fit for the knackers' yard - useless, worn out. When referring to people it usually means a temporary state because tired and worn out people are not "put out of their misery".

Ogg, thank you for the elucidation. Comparing your and Gauche's responses gives me further insight into the depth and breadth of UK male self-expression.

Dear Perdita,

The use of the terms "knackered" and "knackers" are not limited to use by males. A lady may well refer to herself as "knackered" after an extensive shopping expedition in Oxford and Regent Streets. She would of course only use the expression in conversation with her intimates. Neither term should be used in polite conversation.

Gosh, that causes me to wonder about a certain UK male's regard for me. Thanks for the tip, Ogg.

feeling a bit knacked down,

Perdita :(

Let me get this straight. Impoliteness firmly intact, "knackered" may be used if I have:

a) had a wild shopping experience
b) been "used up" the night prior and need put out of my misery (attempting to walk)
c) had a bet placed on me and caused a loss
d) chosen to be absolutely useless

What fun! I'll begin using the word to my American friends. I'll assume they will confuse it initially with knickers.

Hugs,

Old man's car on a Saturday night
Got me a woman, me I feel alright
Rock and rollin' at the drive-in show
Gonna sit in the back in the passion row
Turn up the soundtrack, turn down the lights
Chance she won't but there's a chance she might
Ain't no woman in the world I know
Ain't had her knickers on the automobile floor

Very, very nice. I always liked it when the young boyfriend played 'Thank You' by ZZTop... giggles. And I'd better be careful; I got in trouble for yelling 'Jack' in my sleep one night recently, and I don't even know one.

Actually, I was referring to the initial debut of knickers on the cover of High Voltage. He then proudly displayed his preppy knickers forever. Gotta love him!

Edited to say: I'm not stupid, I know your name is Zack, but I have to be good.

I'm impressed. From Hallowe'en to shopping sprees to ZZ Top and AC/DC. And only in two pages. We're surpassing ourselves.

Just me,

Late last night and the night before,
Tommyknockers, Tommyknockers,
knocking at the door.
I want to go out, don't know if I can,
'cause I'm so afraid
of the Tommyknocker man.

:D
That was scary.

Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Micheal Myers, the Chuckie doll, the freaky looking guy from Student Bodies, and Norman Bates in an all-male, gay, gang bang, porno extravaganza called I know Who You Did on Elm Street Last last Halloween in Texas with that Sex Doll you bought on Friday the 13th.

I think there is a definate misconseption, now that we have a horror category that the Halloween costume story must fall into it. I'm pretty sure that a wide range of storys from any category would be eligible for the halloween contest. It could take place on Halloween or simply have a halloweenish theme (ie vampires, ghosts, gyypsies, ect) It could have a Wiccan (or celtic) bent, and focus on Samhain. I see soooooo many posibilties. I'd just hate for all of the entries to be 'horror category' only!

Personally, I have a Poem,

"You're Full of Trickery Witch" with a lot of witchy (oh god, I forgot the word I want! help!!!) er, um, imagery. But I just don't know if poetry will get me enough votes to qualify.

Are we allowed to enter more than one submission for the contest? I have an upcoming siance (sp) sceduled for some of my repeat characters (who happen to be witches) If I can get that far by October...

S&P: don't go with the poem, zip interest (I know, and I'm good).

Yeah, horror not necessary. FYI, seance.
