I haven't had it get caught in clothing though I am told by friends that have the ring that sometimes that gets caught. Since I have the barbell, the same one you would get if you had a navel piercing, I have no problems.
As for orgasm problems and re-learning your body, I'm told that sometimes, but in rare cases, having the actual clit pierced can be damaging. My piercer was one of the folks that mentioned this to me which is why when he said "Maybe you should get the hood done instead..." I said "Yup...sure will, thank you."

I have one. Labia minora. Had it for about 8.5 yrs now. Purely decorative as opposed to functional.
Do's and don't's... find a GOOD piercer. If they don't take the time to answer any and all of your questions, walk out and find someone else that will. Take a friend. Don't rush into it. I rushed a hood piercing 4 yrs ago.. didn't research the piercing, the piercer, the studio... went and had it done 'cause one friend has one and raves, and another wanted to do it too. I mentioned that I wanted one and well.. it cost me a lot of money for a very bad experience. Not sure exactly what happened, and I'll spare the details unless you are really curious about it... but I had it removed 5 days later.
Did it hurt? Like a sonofa for about 15 seconds. Ached slightly for about 30 min (I rushed home and took off my panties as soon as I could, which was right after the piercing!!). Stung like a bitch with the first pee (your own urine is sterile to you when fresh). Using a small squirt bottle to rinse afterwards helped.
I do get the odd pinching sometimes like serijules described.. mostly in public.
Does it get in the way? No. Not where mine is.
Does it change the orgasm? No. Does make *some* want to spend more time there tho.
Get in the way of waxing? Nope. Not mine.

I went with my friend this weekend when she got hers done- they did an Isabella piercing.
And I am a little terrified to every get it done now. It was the inital pain of it. So maybe I will, but for now, I am good with my piercings and getting more tats.

Interestingly, my cousin was in an accident years ago and had several operations on his ankle and promptly contracted Golden Staph in the hospital. They tried every antibiotic they could, all treatments they had, and nothing worked. He came to stay at our house after discharge and my mother got to work on him with warm salt water bathing a few times a day and within a week there was no sign of the infection and still isn't. The hospital couldn't believe she had gotten rid of it when they couldn't.

Heh, wow...I will have to try to find that! He's injecting straight into her clit, you say? That must look...odd. I think if I wanted to go that route, I would just use it "properly" (if using black market T can ever be proper) and see what shape it took by itself.

Yeah, I am guessing that this is a bit different, because this piercing just rests a little bit lower than the vertical hood piercing....I don't remember him saying that it would go through the clit- just sitting right on top of it so that the bottom ball sits on the clit

I have clit hood pierced with a ring. It doesn't get caught in clothing. Someone mentioned earlier that if you have jeans on or something with a tight seam pressing againt you, you are very aware of it. This is quite true.
It does make orgasms more intense when pushed in the right way.
When I went in, I wanted each lip pierced in order to have them locked/tied together. The piercer said that it is more painful to have lips pierced because of the thickness of the lips - more to get through. He was the one who suggested clit hood first.
There really wasn't much pain at all. My upper ear hurt worse.

There is a lot to be said for a return to more basic ways to heal.
I am not advocating getting rid of medical science, but bugs do become resistant to antibiotics and sometimes the simple ways work instead.
