Loving Wives- Dying a slow death?

Oh I don't know, sometimes it's just fun to fuck with them. I thought I spin a twist at them with a story titled "Abed". Working from a quote by Anne Sexton's "The Ballad of a Lonely Masturbator" where she says "Late at night, alone, I marry the bed," I set up a story from a bed's point of view as my "wife" has sex with man after man actually on top of me (me being the bed). I'd say 75% of the comments came from readers who didn't have a clue. I went back and now have Chapter 2 out where I got really obvious talking about being a "King Size" and being Serta Perfect (not just sorta perfect). In the end the bed exacts its revenge: Bedbugs!

So far the comments are 2 for 2, missing the point that the main character is a bed.

Of course my rating is hovering in the high 1s, but it sure is fun.

i must admit to enjoying the odd tweak to stir 'em up too. ;)

I posted several stories in LW several years back. I don't like the naming of that category at all. I deal with cheating and cuckold stories, and I tried submitting them to the Fetish category, but whoever reviews these things changed the category of my submissions.

Even though I've got about 120,000 views, 300 ratings, and an average of 4.57 on my most-viewed story, the hatemail has really made me not want to submit anymore and contributed to me keeping more to myself.

Commentators - Stop abusing the process

Is it just me or have the stories in the WL category been decreasing in number of stories, and changing in the type of stories presented. So many now are pure revenge against a cheating spouse stories. There used to be more stories about shared wives or hot wives, or couples that agree to have a third party in their sex play Now I see very few. Have all the "1" bombs and scathing attack criticism taken their toll and driven off LW authors?

I too have thought that there has been a general decline in the variety of Loving Wives stories, particularly by my favorites authors. That decline, in my opinion, is directly related to the vicious personal attacks given by a very, very small group of commentators who submit multiple comments, attack one another in the feedbacks, and then attack the authors personally.

Criticism of a story on it's merits is one thing. I enjoy reading criticism. In some cases my critics are much more kind about a passage than I am after I reread what I've published. However, it annoys me when someone attacks my character because they disagree with how a story was framed. What steams me though is when they abuse the process and submit multiple comments in the same feedback thread then attack other critics personally as if the forum were their personal counseling and venting service.

However, the idea of editing comments I find abhorrent. The only reasonable solution I would offer would be to restrict everyone to one, and only one, comment in the feedback thread of any story.

They Are Different, But Not Unfair

About one third of my stories are in the NonConsent/Reluctance category, and they're doing fine. Generally positive comments, pretty good scores. Perhaps my "style" is just right for the regulars.

Loving Wives, now that's another story. I've posted one story there (it seemed to fit the format), and it's been bombed with the most hateful comments and had the lowest score I've ever encountered. So yes - they're a different crowd.

The LW crowd is tough, but if a writer submits a thoughtful, caring story, the votes will be rewarding. I've submitted four, and they've all garnerd the "H" rating. No complaints here.

<Raising a glass to the LW crowd> Many Thanks, Ya'll, and I'll Keep Writing!

Just my thoughts...

I never read the LW stories. The category sounds boring to me. Admittedly, I don't actually know what it entails.

However, I just posted a story in the "Group Sex" category that is actually more of an LW story, in my mind.

If LW refers to a wife expanding her comfort-zone and admitting her sexual proclivaties... please check out "Marie's Surprise" once it is posted.

If LW means (as I have always seen it) "Women deigning to have sex with their husbands"... you'll understand my reluctance.

To hell with the critics, write on.

When I write a story, I do so because it reminds me of events which have pleased me, or the effort to put pen to paper allows me to fantasise about an event which I may have liked to occur.

As for what some screw up decides to say about it, who cares?

You'd have to be very thinned skinned, and extremely insecure, to allow the criticism of an anonymous coward, turn you off continuing to contribute.

Write for your own pleasure, it will also please others, just don't take any notice of the twits who criticise.

Let them first show us what they can do, and if they won't put something forward, then what credibility do their dumb comments have anyway?

We all come here to read for pleasure or to make our own contributions so that others may enjoy our own personal pleasures.

Anyone who takes all this so seriously as to comment critically, or to feel upset by those criticisms, surely have to be people with a problem.
