Thank you WE one. I will let you keep the rest of your toes! :)
I like jazz, but I do not own nor toot a horn. I don't think it proper to mention one's own submissions (nor to vote on your own poems).

Wow, Eve...

I just logged on to the boards to mention Rybka's new poem.

Compelling read, Rybka.

Mesmerized,

Cordelia

I echo you Cordy and WE. A keeper if there ever was one. Thanks Rybka.

Thank you too, 4x4x8elia. ;) Pleased that people of talent like you, Wicked Eve, and guilty pleasure find it to be worth mentioning.

Mesmerized? Maybe there should be a "mind control" category for poems? :)
I now have my first "Illustrated" poem submitted. I don't know when it may be approved, but it is titled "Coup-Ku". (Guess who/what it is about.) :D

And I do have a poem for tomorrow. It is entitled "Acerbic Acid".

So the Fish is dropping acid now? How does one do that while underneath the water? Hm.... that might explain all the transformations of late.
:p :p :p

There are 25 new poems today. Including multiple entries by several poets. Here are some that are certainly worth reading.

Of Judo's four works, all worth reading, I feel I must mention Bitter Sweet Affections. Go read it and you will know why.

Thank you for the mention, Rybka. I really felt like writing a lot yesterday. I hope you all get to read them.

Bitter Sweet was the first thing I wrote. I was full of emotion and I think I got it right.

:Mwah! to you all:

Make that "dripping" acid. You never could spell, but subtract three from the second letter and you certainly do! :D :p :D

Uh.... I don't get it. What the heck are you talking about, you silly fish? I think you've been using too many drugs.

I think that of the new poems posted today my favorite is by silken_dreammaid. She gives us some interesting imagery and a thoughtful metaphor in snow-globe.
quote: Upon the window sill it sits.

Glass embolism upon
plasticated rockey.
Stasis encapsulated
in tacky mockery.

Rainbows stream when sunlit.
...

Thanks for the mention,Rybka. It is much appreciated.

Sorry, but I will be out most of the day and as a result, won't get a chance to review the 'New Poems List' until late this evening (West Coast Time). If someone wishes to jump in and review before I get the chance, feel free.

2-17

23 new poems and I found a few that tickled my panties. Or is that fancy? Anyway, if anyone else has any poems you want to bring attention to, please do!

Night of the Koalas
by Xtaabay ©

Fuzzy chain gangs
Force fed seltzer and cow juice
Until cheesecake compacted itself
With clumps of fur.

Freaky poem, therefore I like it! :D Check out the rest of it!

----------

Mountain Stream
by Cordelia ©

white edges of miniature surf
ionizing the air
in ear-tickling swallows
of rock-song

It's a poem by Cordelia, so you know it's good. You just know it! Go read the rest of it.

Your poetry reading day isn't complete until you've had a dose of sp.

perguntas
by 03sp ©

ever? on a sunny winter day
with snow and clouds moving
under the sun?
changing everything and anything,
look at your wrist,
is it OK?
are you OK?
Who is that man looking in your window?

What's this poem about? I don't know. Do you? If you do, please tell me.

Two poems that I think are worth a mention:

You and I

She cannot spell at all, but replace the "p" with an "m" and you have Xtaababy!

Wow. Thanks for the mention, Eve. I have no idea what to say, but thanks. It was your photo that inspired this poem, anyhow!

Gratefully,

alwaysawake

was so wakeful he posted his Tangled Fluorescence a day early. (I know AA that you weren't sure you would be around to post it today. :))

His poem, which is full of lovely and poweful imagery like the following:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I lay next to you unable to say a word,
Unable to move a single muscle.
Slowly my eyes move up and down the curve of your back.
With feathery touches, running my fingers over your smooth skin.
Only to feel the heat of your sleeping body,
Only to feel the secrets that lie under your skin.
Only to smell your sweet scent and bask in your opulent glow one last time before dawn.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

earned an E. Way to go AA and um

neener, neener--toldja you could

Sorry, I didn't mention your poem AA. I was going to wait till tomorrow when all the poems are up.
Congrats on the E. Keep writing!

Thanks! :p :D It makes a profound social statement :D :D :D
(because, as we all know, the exploitation of koalas in cheesecake sweatshops is prevalent).

Eve's New AV

Gosh your skin is perfect. And why are you eating your necklace? Is it one of those candy necklace thingies? Got any more?

That's Elda, silly.

I guess I need to do the new poems. So I'll be back later. :)

I read the new poems and there aren't many, so go take a look at all of them. Maybe something will jump out and grab you. I wasn't grabbed -- only slightly fondled :)

While you do that, let me mention the one you'll miss:

-------------------------------------------------
Lover Sleep
by WickedEve ©

Move quietly
to where I wait beyond
haze of tangled thought,

where legs turn ivy wild,
climbing towers
of want for me.

[...]

This poem moves quietly to where I wait, beyond haze of tangled thought. Which is lovely. I'll have to borrow that final couplet too. Mmmm

Thanks, Lauren. And to everyone else who had new poems up today, I apologize for not having more to say. I'm a bit distracted tonight and even though I read all the new poems, nothing was really sinking in. I'll try again later tonight.

I am not usually one to like most of the poems that are posted as "Erotic Poems," but once in a while one will really get to me. Today there were two.

I must mention that, along with the delectable Lover Sleep by WickedEve, I was melted by the delicious poem, enough a lot by 03sp. (Especially that first line!)

Now I must go and attempt erotic poetry of my own. (I hope no one has noticed I've never posted one...)

Squaring my shoulders,

Cordelia
