I saw a few places that I'd change, but still a good poem.

Thank you Eve. I also would appreciate you showing me what you might change, if you have time. PM me, my email won't let me in without freezing my computer up

Thanks again :)
I'll try to get a PM to you in just a little bit. And I'm only talking minor things--personal taste mostly.

clearly that makes two of us, lol. :D
I thought you would at least know. We do depend on you around here to know these things--you and Lauren smarty pants. Where is Lauren?

thank you for the mention, your wickedness. :)

the sesto (six) is a sestina (I think, lol, it might be a paradelle--I forget).

will someone be so kind as to tell me what the heck I wrote?

It's a sestina, Ang. (And a damn good one!)

I only sound smug because I just wrote my first one.

I'll post it when it's polished.

Thanks Cordie. :rose:

I knew there was a reason I called it a sesto, lol. Yours will be superb, I'm sure--looking forward to seeing it. :)

Like ransomed rain escaping
pouring down upon the plains
quenching droughts with sprinkles and splashes
and drops of whispered,unenviable pain

It was raining tonight here in Kansas. In fact we had a thunderstorm for a little bit. In December. Go Figure. Oh yeah, I liked this one quite a bit....

Most likely Lauren.Hynde. She has BOTH Saturday AND Sunday this week! :D :rose: :D

At least it won't be ME! :p

Let it be known that I'm trying to finish a story in time for the Winter contest, which means it will have to happen sometimes in the next 24-30 hours. That may result in a slight delay on tomorrow's poetry review, especially if there are 50+ of them, but it will come. ;)

poetry avalanche

i'll do whatever shows up for the 5th (or a bunch if they're all dated the 6th).

Nothing yet, eh? I'll bet all juice is poured into working through the last days of mega-contest submissions

Meanwhile, here's a spankin' new poem, written ad-lib:

So, waiting
wondering
debating
pondering,
who will the lucky be?

So, teasing
and leering
and not
volunteering,
I conclude, it won't be me!

So, scorned
into chism
by my dumb
egoism,
you're having my cyber-ass kicked.

So, for you
poet chicks
I can too
make some picks,
but protest I will: I was tricked!

we may be poet chicks, but we ain't proud--we'll take your picks by trick, hook, or crook. (did i just mix metaphors? if i did, it's because i'm buried in snow--not that i'll get any sympathy from you, schweedy). :)

Pfft. Actually, we had out first snowfall today too. Short, wet, melted away already.

No, polar bears does NOT roam the streets in Stockholm. Mid-swedish climate is pretty...New York, actually.

...and here we are, flooding the NP thread with this off-opic blah.
