People who don't show their face when posting nude pics....

Who was this in response to? You just never responded to my arguments besides in this post, yet I did not call anyone names. And yes, you have made your points obviously clear, and I was just making my opinion clear. If you feel comfortable about pictures of you being seen by people who know you, then that is AWESOME for you! That is your choice to be made, but that doesn't mean that people who disagree with those choices are somehow uncomfortable with their bodies (as in having it linked with their face and name). If you are willing to take chances of your boss seeing them and having to file lawsuits, then that is fine as well. I never argued your right to your choices... I was just explaining why I personally do not post my face and why others I know do not as well.

You are right, this discussion has come up before in the past. But you can't expect not to get backlash from the people who censor their faces (or who are friends or frequent visitors of people who do not share their face), since you are obviously "bothered" by their pictures. If you don't want to hear why people are not bothered and are understanding of the situation, then maybe you shouldn't have posted in the first place. You could have kept on just not visiting or posting on those threads that do not show the face, keeping your views to yourself.

Thank you

LIT made it clear when you register, this is a freedom of speech no holds barred forum. I said from the very beggining people have their own choice to post their face or not, it's all cool. I'm not busting on anybody, just trying to start a friendly conversation 'cause that's a board is for.

Oh, I know it is freedom of speech, which is why I shared my opinion. You stated, "Is anyone else bothered that people censor their face? I can prove my point that there are plenty of people in here who don't have a problem showing their face when posting a nude pic. I have a plan to do just that.".... So I was just saying if you don't expect people to have an opinion opposite of that and to argue it, then why bother asking?

And saying that some pictures "bother" you does bust on people's choices... if I were to post a thread asking if anyone was "botherd by pictures of hairy men," (just an example, not in any way true) I'm sure some people would be up in arms. If you wanted people's honest opinions, then perhaps you should have asked, "Do you prefer when people show their face in their pictures or not?"... that would probably have spurred less people to defend their choice, because I agree with you that it was not the initial intention of the thread.

Ok, you're right, maybe I should've wrote this thread in a better way so it can get better responses that I was hoping for. Seriously though, I don't care if people don't post their face and I'm not trying to talk them into revealing their face, I'm just giiving out an opinion that I think revealing your face is a great thing to do and nothing wrong with it. If people think it's a wrong thing to do, that's cool, every human being out there is different. You're right though, I should have said "Do You prefer" instead of "Does it bother you". I see your point.

I would be one to agree with you... I would prefer to post my pictures with my face, and I think they would be a lot more sexier that way... but I cannot get over those things that I posted before, and I believe I do have valid reasons. It is the same reasons why I don't share my real name nor my profession. I guess I felt compelled to post my opinions because you said that people who do not share their face are not confident. To me that is not true in the least, my reasons are totally different. I'm sure some do it because they aren't confident or shy, but to assume that is why most people do it is not fair. I guess everyone has their own reasons... just like everyone has their own likes and dislikes about pictures here on Lit. I guess I try to be positive about everyone, because it takes a lot to share even the littlest bit of you like this.

Thanks for understanding my position!

if you'd like i could once again go back through your posts and show the places you did bust on people who don't show their faces

the thing that bothered me the most and still does is your inability to grasp that people can be fired for posting here (and other adult oriented sites) and/or other ramifications that might come of it if someone were to indeed identify you without a doubt...body types set aside, unless you have a birthmark or tattoo of some type the face is the only way to prove without a doubt

It does not make any sense that people could lose there job for posting naked pictures of them selves or there partners on the web when most sites you need to register in order to see the images.

But the people that bring it to public attention never get asked a single question, it is always that they stumbled across pornography by accident.

If someone likes to pose naked and post them on the internet for others to see should not become a reason for them to lose there job.

So that is what you wanted, everyone to just agree with you?

BTW, I was sharing this thread with my husband and I read this part again:

When will people get that outside people who are not registered have to register to see the pics? That's why LIT do this sothey can keep the users of LIT safe. LIT cares about the people that post here so they keep the pics private as they can.

I can see how a person would get fired off a job or lose custody of children during a divorce if they post nude pics on a "public website", but LIT is not public. Outside people can't see pics in here. So it doesn't make any sense how people you know are gonna know what you do in here.

It takes all of 2 seconds to create a user name... And employers have been known to have MySpace accounts and the like to follow the going-ons of their employees... things like this speak to character (even if it is wrong that they judge you on your private time, it doesn't take away the fact that they do)

he hasn't said anything new, he stated that it was wrong and a double standard to hold some to a higher standard than others...re-read the post

holy cow, you really are reading only what you want, aren't you?

Just like he thinks that us arguing why it might not be safe for people to show their face must mean that we don't think it is ok to show one's face in a picture. As I re-read the thread, there are just so many contradictions and points were things are read-into too far.

yep...no reasoning, no logic, no thought to what is posted then can't understand why he gets bombarded with questions and comments

Let the fucking thread die. I'm gonna have a mod delete this.

That's not going to happen... they don't delete threads.

BTW, I don't think anyone is arguing your opinion or your right to your opinion... I think there were just a bunch of cases where there were misunderstandings. Everyone wants their opinion to be heard and respected, and arguing doesn't help matters.

Sorry that you thread didn't work out like you planned

Hey what do you know, I was wrong, we have agreed on something.

I find it amazing that you know the rules and policies of every company that anyone might work for.

I'm in awe

The post was about the double standards we use in society. If you are not comfortable showing you face in the pictures that’s fine. I completely understand if people don’t.

It's about personal choice and what you feel comfortable doing.

my two cents..

being a relative newbie to lit and the cyber world in general, i think i understand both sides my feelings are mixed, but i don't curse others for theirs

I understand that it's nice to have an image to go with rest once in while, it does an intimacy factor, if that's why you're here, and some people are generally turned on by gorgeous faces.

I don't think my face will ever be up, if I even get the nerve to out any at all, because I am here purely for anonymity. I prefer to not see faces because I am happily married and just enjoy the words mostly. Not that I don't enjoy the beauty of the male form... in all it's statuesque glory, but the other day i caught a glimpse of a hot one, then saw his face...to be polite...yuck...not my cuppa.

I also will not show my face because of my profession... i am a teacher and actually have a morality clause in the contract..despite it being a privacy issue... "behaviour unbecoming a teacher" is not acceptable. And I don't need my face plastered on the net (If someone wants to they'll get a pic, despite security. I know studetns fantasize enough about their teachers, they don't need any encouragement from me.

Thanks for 'listenting' to my ranting.
