September Film Challenge 🎬

Man, you are older than I thought. 😂

Day 1: Pinocchio when they released it in the 80s.
Day 2: My aunt had her faves on VideoDisc so I saw Star Wars, The Last Unicorn, Clue, Wizard of Oz, etc a million times.
LOL - I had totally forgotten about the Wizard of Oz! My family watched it on TV (black & white, in that day) every year that it was re-broadcast. In later years, I have grown to appreciate how much talent was in that film, as well the quality of the music & dancing, the casting, direction, production, & screenwriting!

I never saw this in the theaters but I wore out my *ding* turn the page record/book of it.

I was like 7 when I saw it, but yeah, I told you I was old.
You're not that much older than me. But I'm dirt so...

Love this classic! Although I'll never forget the first time I watched it and could tell the backgrounds were fake. So sad!

Day 2: A film you watched over and over as a child
Now that’s a tough one for me to answer, because at 61, I didn’t have home video or cable movie channels when I was a “child”, so I’ll extend the definition to include teen years and say the original Star Wars, which I saw 10 times in the theatres.

I definitely included teen years for the one I posted. I have about six movies that I watched an unbelievable number of times from around age 9-14 or so.

We were a very big deal I 1985, as one of the first families to get a VCR. This was the first movie we owned, and we wore it out. I still have a bit of a phobia about what's floating in my soup.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
I wonder how many consecutive days you’ll post my childhood crushes? Although Harrison Ford is still a current crush 😍

Recently my dad was visiting and I was talking about how my husband laughs at how much I quote this movie. Then my dad and I proceeded to back and forth quoting it for like 10 minutes straight and laughing hysterically.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I literally saw this in the movie theaters. we were visiting friends of ours from Long Island and their kids wanted to see this.

We got to the theater and they wouldn’t let us in - it was rated R and we were all underage. I was the youngest, maybe 7/8. Long story short, we told them we had our parents permission and they let us in!

It was not quite a double feature, but an opening short which was soft core porn! It was the first time I saw an actual woman naked I think. It was all done like as “sports announcers” watching two naked people frolic and touch and then doing a play by play, complete with slo mo replays and stuff. I was highly aroused even tho I did not know what I was even feeling!

And then holy grail came on. Good lord did we repeat lines from that movie… for almost 50 years now!!!

Great memory. Thanks for rekindling it.
