Snippetsville: General Discussion

I guess I pressed the button by mistake!

But for whatever reason, 'Tales from Snippettsville, Issue 03' is now posted.

You'll find it here.

It plays hell with our carefully arranged schedule, so apologies.

Alex

PS: Zack, answers to your query ASAP, although if you have an idea for Plot #10, go for it!

Names at last

Okay folks, listen up.

Following Seattle Zack's prompt, and bearing in mind suggestions made, our anonymous city is now Cedar Grove.

The river flowing through Snippettsville and joining Green River to the West of town is Hope Creek.

The maps and intro are now amended.

Building #10 on the town map is open for grabs.

Alex

Issue 3 is showing as 34th of the 59 chain stories. (great start)

I apologise for the delay in posting these stats. High winds here have caused lots of power cuts over the last 48 hours.

Cedar Grove and Hope Creek. Oh my goodness, there's a story in Hope Creek! Great name choices! :)

clarification

B) Announcement

Snippettsville Masquerade Ball
Venue: Green Lake Lodge (see the map on the Sticky)
Saturday Night - 8 'til Late
Tickets pre-sold
Finger food supper
Spot prizes - Best Dressed, Best Dancers.
Unmasking at Midnight.

Deadline for stories pertaining to the Masquerade Ball is October 31st, 2003.

Just for clarification as I see after double checking...

The Masquerade Ball is an Autumn/Fall Ball. Snippettsville is in the States, and the States are in Autumn/Fall at the end of October, then it's a Fall Masquerade Ball.

A big thanks to Vars from swp for my wakeup call! *hug*

Damn. I was going to use it as a book depository for use during the mayor's motorcade. Alex, could you point out a well placed grassy knoll? Preferably forward and to the right.

Wow, Gauche, I think I have the url for a live webcam of such a landscape; we just need to excise the castle ruins.

Have another look at Map 3. There's still quite a lot of unclaimed real estate...

Alex

PS: Maybe South of The Station (#15).

Sorry!

I apologise for the delay. High winds here have caused lots of power cuts, so I don't feel comfortable with having my pc on. (The winds are going to be around on and off until the end of October.)

I have today sent out PMs to all SG members notifying everyone of the Roster system Perdita had put into action for me. :) Thanks so much for doing that Perdita. Very much appreciated. :)

As it says in the PM and on the Page 9 of this thread... if anybody has any problems with the roster please let us know.

I also have noticed Perdita has included herself in two groups. Please let me know if this becomes too much work for you Perdita... I'll jump in there myself if the need arises. And thank you for going that extra mile, again. *hug*

Yay! Well done rhino! Keep up the good work dear. :) Don't forget, if the arty muse kicks in all proceeds will be welcomed with open arms. :)

Hey I don't kick rhinos there!

What I meant was, if the drawing muse kicks in then feel free to share, okay? ;)

sounds good to me. you might like to check out the Character Database... there's a few women hanging around in there. You'll find each woman mentioned will also have the title of the story she's mentioned in, within the same paragraph. That'll help you to pick and choose the character and traits, along with being able to read up the stories she stars in. :)

Sweetie, I didn't know this. So now I should go edit my post and give the story titles wherein Sian lives?

Perdita

Yes please. When you have the time dear. No huge hurry methinks. :)

It's a really handy database the more information it contains.

(ps. can you tell me how to pronounce 'Sian's name?)

Sian is I believe a Gaelic name (Ire) and is a form of the feminine Sean as in Connery which (as you know) is the form of the commonest name in the world*. (Ian, Ivan, euan, Shawn, Jan)

Sian = shorn

Sian

Thank you, Gauche for your reply. However, you left out the Spic version, Juan (pr. Wan by gringos, or Jew-ahn by the late Lord Byron).

Sweets: when you get to my stories you'll see I included the pronunciation (cleverly I might add ;) ).
