I will protect you all and not show you what my left great toenail looks like. It is about half grown out from having had a piece of firewood land on it. Wow did it hurt! It will probably take another month or so before the nail is finally grown out.

Sorry, I’ve been off dealing with…things. I recommend heading over to reddit. r/makeupaddiction is really great for finding out your undertones. There’s a method for viewing your veins: blue = pink and green = yellow undertones, but it’s not fool proof. I’m neutral toned so my veins show blue/greenYou need to give me a lesson on what colors look good and how I can tell that myself. I have no clue how any of that works. I know I feel more comfortable in some colors than others but I don’t really know if they’re colors that look great on me or not.
Anyway, green nails now. Rated Pea-G by OPI. My top coat was almost used up. It was so gloopy and difficult to apply that it messed up the actual color. Oh well. Still a fun color.
. Anyway, you can make a red and blue card and take pictures in different lighting next to it, post it to their mega thread and they’ll help sort you out. :sigh: my whole thing is just blah. No contrast (blonde and pale skinned) so even knowing my undertone I’m shite at choosing the best colors for me. I’ve started wearing lighter tones and more white and cream colors and it’s working so far.

As I said, I can’t handle the texture without top coat.

Oh, this is pretty! And I know what you mean, I have this “sugary” polish that is textured and the texture really turns me off. Top coat is a must.

Purple can be so much….
A few favourites dependeing on what you like:
Midnight in Moscow is almost black and inky, purply blue.
Every month is Oktoberfest is an all time favourite
Black Cherry Chutney is not one I’ve tried but sure wouldn’t mind.
Lincoln Park after dark is almost black, dried blood purplish brown.

Here in a slightly better light… it’s more fuchsia than it looked in the previous pic that I took in my dark jungle of a kitchen. There are huge, beautiful trees in front of my kitchen window so the general atmosphere there is kind of moody green, even with lights on. Not the ideal place to take pics where color kind of is the point. Lesson learned.
Doing toes with the same color now. Really loving how vibrant it is.

I’m wanting to paint my nails but I can’t decide on a color. Maybe just a French manicure for something neutral.

I struggle wearing textured nails a lot but I find them pretty on others.
