TSCLT 10.0: Confucius say he hates a pussy!

I don't know the difference between a bbq or grill, my cooking on them is a sure way to bad food. It's just not one of my skills.
He volunteers with the legion, KoP and KoC when they have fundraisers so it's a big thing like the image below.

Bbq is cooking low and slow, often with a bit of smoke.

Grilling is just cooking over fire.

Happy Thursday!!!

Last work day this week. Next week is also four days. There be trip back to the house tomorrow, and back here on Monday. Might actually get some stuff done, which would be a change.

Today is a rainy day, but it doesn't come in until 4 or so. Which means we'll get an entire load of outside weasels. All for the best, I reckon. Hope we found a replacement plumber.

The funny-looking dog spent the night out barking at woods poodles. The new cat is killing this-here toy mouse. I'm a-killin' this-here coffee . . . .

Good morning.

We going to find out how the tooth saga came out? (double entendre' intended)

Firearm cleaning day along with a short trip to the store. Might do some reloading later as well.

Senor gato traveling with you Wat?

I got laid the other day. Kinda sad that is actual news, but pleased with myself. I almost passed because I'd slept 10-12 of the previous 72 hours. Not a chance in hell I'd be bringing my "A" game. She was amused and insisted it'd be fun regardless. Was quite confident her ministrations could raise the dead. She was marvelous, I was OK. Fortunately, she may not know the difference.

So we reconnected this morning. She giggled about telling her friend that I had met before meeting her. With no false modesty, I couldn't see there was much to tell.

Turns out, I have just been racially fetishized. She hadn't previously spent that sort of quality time with a white guy. I think I'll survive the indignity. Her positive review will help assuage my umbrage.

I talk to everyone. I'm verbal like Kint. This is not the first time that I have independently met two friends, got along with both, and had no idea they knew each other. I mean, I'm not shocked they knew each other, same circle, but I wouldn't have guessed they were confidantes.

It is slowly occurring to me that my minimal success in these sort of matters is partly because women talk and compare notes. Each "approved" to some lesser degree but the sum of the parts bestowed greater credibility than was necessarily warranted.

I"m not sure I could do it on purpose, but it's a nice accidental gambit.

Pushing up to 40 today, then below freezing for the entire 10-day forecast.

In other news, last night I had venison tenderloin, cooked in butter in a cast iron pan. It doesn't get any better than that.

So I fail at both, good thing the men around here like to cook outside.

Conager women don't just talk to each other about men, we give reviews. With so many asshats in the world we have to look out for each other, if you're getting more interest consider yourself one of the good guys.

I've always had my suspicions that decades ago all the women in the world held a conference and it was resolved that none would have sex with me again.

Thank you for the confirmation.

LOL it probably has more to do with your location, your high standards and a small local population of suitable singles.

Home. Brought in some carry-out. Shared with the cats-n-dogs. The landlady had already eaten.

The one I'm not boinking. Life is so simple this way, simple like many Lit posters.

Oh, we did get a new plumber - he starts Tuesday. And the rain came early and ran off the outside weasels, thanks be to Allah.

Gonna call it a day very soon in order to get up to head home. :D

Happy road trip Friday!!! No, the cats will stay here. No riding for them today. Those are new car dynamics left for a shorter trip, or one made from necessity.

The weather appears to be coopreative today - clear here and chasing clouds ahead of me as I make progress. Sunday back to "home" looks unfortunately wet.

Planning to juggle the house tomorrow and finish it Sunday. We'll see how that goes.

First things first: coffee . . . .

I see these posts are fairly old but my hands on experience may be of interest yet. I ran a 320 inline Buick eight in a dirt track car on 3/8 mi. ovals for 10 years. There are some myths about the BBBIL [Big Block Buick Inline], For one thing I have read many posts saying they are very prone to break crankshafts because of "whip" at high rpm. Another is that they won"t stay together. This is true in stock form. I"m quite sure the broken cranks happen after the main caps break. We fabricated #2&4 from 4130 1 inch steel. Bored a hole then sawed in half and drilled cap bolts, fitted to block then had it line bored. The first engine ran 5 years then broke a rod and junked the block. We built a new one with the same crank and it ran another 5 years and I sold it. This was run from 5200 to 6200 rpm, 2 nights a week each summer for 10 years. that"s 9000 plus laps mostly wide open. I built it without the extremely heavy front vibration damper and with an aluminum flywheel. Of course you could not balance a nickle on the rocker cover at idle like salesmen liked to do in the day, smooth idle was about 2500 rpm with 10.5 comp. ratio and the most radical cam grind Crane had in those days. All moving parts were balanced, the block was modified for full flow oil filter and cooler, oil pump shimed up to 70 lb. press. and pan baffled an deepened with 15 qt. Kendall GT1 racing oil and 3 cans STP. The one major failure was the # 2 rod failed at the wrist pin. I had modified then from a clamper style wrist pin by welding up the slot and boring them for bushing an full floating pins. The 2nd set I took to an aircraft shop and had them zyglowed, shot peened, and heat treated. I think that was the answer. Dozens + of hours were spent boring the ports and valve pockets and grinding pockets for huge Pontiac valves. The 8 would run well over 7000 by accident [spinning.] It won 3 track season point championships and beat a lot of Chevy V8s. From V8s I chased and those chasing me I would estimate HP about 325 to335. With modern ignition, more compression, racing fuel and improvement in camshaft I think 350 would be attainable. We had 2 Holly 500 carbs and tube intake manifolds and 8 tuned megaphone exhausts. Nobody ever heard anything like it before or since. It wasn"t a practical thing to build but beating 16000 dollar engines with one designed 60 or 70 years before made it worth while. Fireball Five

We have a nasty windstorm flinging ice pellets everywhere,
the pups were extremely quick with their business this morning
and ran straight for the fireplace when they came in. The lines to
the shop is down so no internet or power out there, I flipped
the breaker when we realized but I'm not sure how long it was
down. It's a good day for some housework, reading and coffee,
I doubt the roads are very good.

The Mariachis' former cat was inside lounging. I bent down and gave him a rough massage. He *usually* likes it. He yowled as I got towards the hind quarters. So I stopped. And walked off. Either because he wanted me to continue, or he wanted me not to, he reached a paw out and swiped my calf. Hooked me deep where I can't feel anything and sliced me where I can.

He knew he was in trouble. He slunk to the door, head down.

11°F with hardly a breath of a breeze. It'll be a good day. Most of it spent in the cave.

Sounds like a good day to make homemade popsicles, Thor.

I just passed a sign for the Nagasaki Grill. Hot name!

Home. All looks okay. Turned up the heat and hot water. Sieving through the mail while grazing on some Numbah Wun Fuckee I scored on the way.

Mostly crap in the mail. Some wanted stuff. Like this-here book.

The preppy poodle was very silly this morning. Was playing jerk his head away when I reached to pet his snoot. I threatened him with the cat, and he almost acted like he remembered. She bit him pretty good, according to the landlady. THat was then, but I wish I had seen it.

The broccoli is very stringy. Not up to their usual standards . . . . :(

Good morning folks.

Glad to hear that all is well on the alternate home front Wat.

I wonder how the tooth saga came out? :)

Happy Saturday!!!

I slept in shifts last night. First shift woke at midnight and wasn't going back to sleep. I lay quietly for awhile and considered turning on the light to read, but thought better of it. I heard a dog off in the distance in my half-asleep state and couldn't identify it. Non-hound. I wondered if the woods poodles were out. They may be here, but I haven't heard if so . . . yet . . . .

Today is clear up the house day. It may take both of them. If it does, so be it. Lots of stuff will get re-homed . . . to the alley. Someone will take it.

Coffee first. It's the best way to invite Allah into the start of one's day . . . .

Good Morning, folks.

<stumbles to the coffeepot>

I hope to get some things done today, too. Not as ambitiously as Wat, but some things.

Coffee first.

The tooth came out cleanly and in one piece, but the stuff used to numb me actually made me deathly sick,
I spent the rest of the day and yesterday vomiting. I mainly stayed in bed.
I'm sipping on a protein shake and it's acting like it doesn't want to stay down.

I've never had that reaction before, so maybe it was a
combination of that and the tooth being extracted.

I'm quickly approaching my coffee limit. After that it's off to the store to pick up a few odds and ends.

It's looking to be a pleasant day today so a little more outside tidying up will be in order. I need a new 'old' door to use as an outside work bench. Used to be I could pick up a new hollow core every third year or so for cheap..............those days are long gone. Or maybe fabricate something out of raw lumber if I can't find a 'throw-away.'

Wat may be biting off more'n he can chew.

Speaking of which, he should go get s'ghetti fixin's and put some on for later.

And ice cream, too.

:D
