thank-you for the corrections, it's not the first time (and won't be the last) that I've been wrong.

As for the pee pad and pups try tossing some grass and soil onto them and placing them over their favourite spots which will have their scents already ground in. It's a 50/50 if it will work but you have nothing to lose at this point.
