Waited far too long to finally get around to stopping for something to eat. I wasn't particularly hungry but I was definitely calorie low. Which might have had something to do with my refusing service with the last person. He was getting froggy with me and I just wasn't having it.

Spent most of the morning attempting to take jabs at my betters like Luk, only to be bitchslapped again. To drown out the patheticness, green chili double at Whataburger. The Breakfast of Champions, my wallet said Taco Bell was $1.87 out of reach.

Wat's longest day of the week. Funny, they're just as long driving home, but they feel shorter.


Suddenly, the job feels less stressful. The Le(a)d Guy got some shit knocked out over the weekend, and that helped. There was a herd of landscapers sorting out the grading and planting. And the management company had their folks out taking out the stumps and trimming the trees. Thanks be to Allah, breathing is a bit easier.


Also, the re-inspection date is two weeks later than I had been told.


Got back to my old motel, the one I stayed in when I first started up here. Still the best deal in town. Allah truly is merciful and beneficent . . . .

Hunted down some kickass LED bulbs for the turn signals on the bike. Sieving for the proper brake light bulb to make it all match and to be extra-bright.

Chile verde is better the next day. I must be craving cars because I wanted to make it into a burrito but I don't happen to have any tortillas. I topped it with mince Bermuda onion Mexican blend cheese and an entire perfectly ripe sliced avocado.

Chiltepin is a really interesting sort of heat. Reading up on it it says that it's 23 times hotter than the average jalapeno. It doesn't seem at all like that to me although it's got an amazing bite. The thing that's unique about how it behaves is it has an intense heat up front but does not linger. A lot of chiles are the other way...where you take a bite it seems okay and it gets hotter and hotter and hotter until your mouth on fire. In this case you get that nice burst of flame upfront and no discomfort after.
