Speaking of corn,
last night I fixed corn on the cob
that was purchased at the local farmer's market.
It sure looked good, the white and yellow kind, but
the daggoned stuff was as tough as old shoe leather.





I feel like I was bushwhacked...

I go into negotiated lock-down tomorrow. They're repaving the street and putting in sidewalks where I live. This is going to involve tearing up and re-doing my driveway cut. So on Monday I had a little meeting with the contractor and we agreed that Thur. was the best day for all involved. They had originally planned on doing half the cut one day and the other half the next day. In that they were planning to use accelerated cure concrete I volunteered that I'd go into lock down on Thur. and then they could just do the whole thing and get it over with. All parties were happy with that arrangement. Now to see if they execute.
