What next? How do we build a better America?

BSG? GM! How are you today?
Allow me please to rant a lil.

I love the 1st amendment. I come here and take full advantage of it with virtually unencumbered free speech, but I’ve never felt more American than whenever I vote. I love today! I love that the Democratic campaign has been one of joy and hope. Do I know who will win today? No, but whatever the outcome I know that I, and other good people, will not stop trying to make this an America that doesn’t look back in the past, but tries to make for a better tomorrow by upholding the promises of the constitution.

Nothing comes without a fight so I don’t expect the Republicans to all of a sudden align their views with what’s best in America’s interest. Hell! The Democrats had Manchin and Sinema so I don’t expect them to always do the right thing either. I’m weaving so bear with me. Today’s vote is a morality test for Americans and many will fail. I just hope that the ones that fail do not win. I hope that the good and the righteous continue to ensure the rights and freedoms for an all inclusive America rather than one that leans towards for the last gasp of a Christian nationalist, America first exclusionary one.

I think women's rights are the most important issue, especially when J.D. Vance rubs elbows with Christain nationalists who want to repeal the 19th Amendment (women's sufferage).

Some may laugh and scoff at such a notion, saying that only a deranged fringe group wants such a thing, that it would never happen in this century America, but I said the same thing about Roe V. Wade being over turned. I'm paying attention now.

I understand that as a woman, I am biased. Many men do not seem to give a shit about issues that affect them directly and it's very telling. It's wild to me that a certain demographic of men wants women to be dependent on them; to force them back into the kitchen and make them their slaves. It's even wilder that some women go willingly.

So, yes, abortion rights are the most important issue to me. Josselli Barnica, Yeniifer Alvarez-Estrada Glick, Nevaeh Crain, and others didn't have to die.
Abortion rightS? Killing babies is more important than stay national security?
WTF is wrong with you? :)

We are living in a period when national security, in a defensive sense, is not important even to the Pentagon.

+ codify Roe.
First - try winning tonight.

Second - Roe will not ever be federally codified. Pie in the sky shit is how the well-intentioned liberals always fuck this up. There will never be enough votes in the federal legislature for it. It just makes for good copy on the View.

Frankly, it’s a big hole that was dug when Roe was written - states eventually have power over privacy and abortion issues and the constitution will only serve to kill any federal statutory protection of abortion rights.

Best bet is to create state laws protecting abortion and creating safe haven statutes for abortion providers.
Eventually the conservative states that seek to punish out of state abortion providers m - that will be challenged constitutionally in federal court and those prosecutorial laws will be deemed unconstitutional. Use the rope what the conservative (ingrates that seem so interested in this stupid topic) justices have given to hang them.

Same goes for gun laws. We can fake piss and moan over these fictions and use it to corral your demographic. But it’s worth less than used toilet paper.

Be real. And not just regurgitate what MSNBC told you last month.
