What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

I’m easily influenced and it’s viral…BCA06EF1-9835-45F2-A15C-316391370AF4.jpeg7B64D20E-672C-4A7A-AEDF-E97FF1D80F2F.jpeg6DDA3D16-19A9-4CE6-9644-46E1662B9AED.jpeg

Yummy, easy, quick=perfect after a full day’s work in the garden.

I made veal straccetti with sauteed vegetables. Added some black pepper, soia and tabasco.
Then, I thought, why not make some bread (kind of) myself, and here we go. It was yummy.

Good food lately!

I experimented with lemon ricotta pancakes and strawberries and they worked out really well even if though I freestyled wildly.

Also, omelette and cold smoked salmon and legume, tomato and feta bowl. C316C205-04C7-4D36-B2A3-75960E002728.jpegA4856444-6AC2-4518-9F2D-C8DFF5F3EC07.jpeg

Yoghurt clusters made with turkish yoghurt, peanut butter a dash of maple syrup, coconut flakes (the large ones), apricots and cherries all frozen in clusters and dipped in daaark chocolate.
The apricots and cherries were aging a bit faster than I could eat them.

For dinner there will be roasted butternut squash, aubergine, mushrooms and cauliflower with a roasted garlic and feta dip.

This looks and sounds delicious! The dinner, too.
Last night I cut away a lot of the basil growth. Made pesto.

Dinner was ravioli with sautéed veggies and pesto. Yum!

Home made pesto is so good!

I’m so hungry! I had to skip lunch because of stupid work reasons. Dinner will be steamed broccolini and carrots and the last batch of cabbage and pork pierogi I made in the winter. Such a good freezer meal to have.

Patriotic Fourth of July breakfast, with strawberries, raspberries for the red, blueberries for the blue, and oatmeal for the white.

That looks so good and I’m not even that fond of oatmeal, at least not cooked oatmeal. Fresh berries are so luxurious!

As are fresh, homegrown herbs.

It turned out that there was more than enough food even without the cauliflower, so I guess we’ll have smashed cauliflower for lunch tomorrow.
Dinner turned out great though.

I love pierogi and haven’t had any for way too long. There used to be a little neighbourhood shop run by two lebanese brothers who sold pierogi that their mother made and they were to die for.
They had to close though, because they were a bit too entrepeneurially creative, I think.

Ready to go meal! I do the same.

In fact, just found some blueberries in the freezer from last June (2022).

Everybody’s cooking sounds great! I wish I could just teleport myself over for lunch/dinner because I don’t like cooking just for myself, which is what I have to do today. Sigh.

Breakfast didn’t take much cooking. Bilberries, banana, raspberries, oats and cottage cheese mushed up, strawberries and blueberries on top.

And a gigantic mug of coffee to compensate for the fact that I didn’t sleep a lot last night.

Breakfast food is the best anyway and can be eaten at any hour as proven by the following pictures of lunches, breakfasts and dinners.
The egg, tortilla and salsa one was breakfast today.

I made moussaka with venison mince (because venison is weirdly one of the cheapest meats in the supermarket I shop at). It's winter here, so that was a perfect meal to eat in front of the fire while watching Masterchef. Also a good weekend meal because I tend to make the different components throughout the day, rather than trying to pull it all together at once (and inevitably forgetting some bit of something).
