I'm making vegetarian chili and brown rice. Mmmmmm.

Sounds yummy! I'm trying to get ahold of my youngest son to see if he wants to go out to dinner with me (and take the dog, too!) this evening. Still have to pack my bags for tomorrow's trip. I've already got the wine packed... just gotta pack my clothes and "stuff"... I have my priorities, eh? :D

BG... I'm flying to where my BF is in NC. He lives in the same town as me but was vacationing with family when his back went out. It's a 5-6 hour drive back "home" and he can't drive, so I'm flying down there to drive him (and his 11 yr old daughter) back to VA. Good news: I get to see him and spend time with him. Bad News: His back is out so no hot-n' heavy sex for quite a while :(

Bad Parent Moment

I'm currently trying not to freak out...Sexy (my turtle) fell out of his tank today...it's a 4 feet drop to the floor from the top of the tank...but thank goodness he's okay...this makes incident number two in 4 days...last Wednesday I accidently burned him in water that was too hot...Jeez, don't I feel unprepared to take care of another living being...I'm off to bury my head under a blanket...

Awww. I relate. I squished my cat's tail once when she was just a baby. Of course it was an accident, but I felt terrible.

I actually drank more this past year than ever before. Mostly because i used to limit the amount I drank because I didn't like mdiet soda. but then one day I tried diet cherry coke....and that's what I usually drink now.

Mmmm, cherry coke. My downfall.

Did y'all have to go and mention cherry coke? Any idea how much I LOVED a real cherry coke?! :(

Temptation will not get to me...temptation will not get to me...temptation will not get to me...

I really do try to limit myself to one can a day. Poured over a tall glass of ice.

And I've tried to give it up, but I figure it's a small enough guilty pleasure.

I think I had 40 cans of cola just last night.

Good lord man! That is a lot of cola.

i said diet cherry coke. there's a big difference.

I probably drink a 12-pack every 2 weeks. Mostly i drink a variety of flavored water drinks, or diet iced tea.

had some superb freshl made to order lemonade on Boston Common on the 4th....I've got to make some of that myself.

The sugar is outrageous in soda. However, it is the combination of sugar and carbonation that I cannot have so...not even diet for me!

What we did today:

--I got into an argument with my ex over a visitation miscommunication.

--I went to the store.

--I read and loafed around online.

--My husband finally finished the staircase!

Eilan....congrats on the staircase!
Woo-hoo! Of course, the the work isn't done yet, but the house is almost 60 years old, and there's finally indoor access to the upper floor.

Today I changed the spark plugs in our minivan (who's the moron that designed the engine compartment to have virtually no access to the 3 spark plugs on the rear side)

saw Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest

moved, washed, and opened our pop-up camper

went swimming with my daughter :)

So, moth balls or not?
