I think I have had sweet potato pie only once but it was absolutely wonderful. It was the year when I student taught and one of the professional teacher's aids made one just before Thanksgiving for us to try. Wow, it was good!

Buttermilk pie for me, please.

I'm going to beg for some explanation on this one. In my experience, buttermilk doesn't seem to have enough substance to be a pie filling all by itself so there must be something else going on here. What is it?

I think I have had that under a different name made by local Mennonites. Funny how that sort of thing appears in different cultures.

It's so much fun trying things you've never had before. Some of my favorite experiences with food have been when I tried something prepared by a friend, especially those from different cultures.

I saw her at the casino here. I wasn't super interested in her music, just her pie. But tickets were free.

It was a great show! She was down to earth. She had this big fan on stage and she'd go stand in front of it, lift her skirt and grin. She wore these killer sparkly stilettos but midway through a song, she'd kick them off, without missing a beat.

I'd forgotten how many songs I knew. I think she's in her mid 70's!

It's snowing here. Supposed to get 3" tomorrow.
