Sting or thud?

For those of us who like that sort of attention..and dare I say, affection?
What gets you more?
The sting or the thud? And why?

Sting. I don’t like pain per say...I like significant sensation.

For myself, I don't actually have a preference. In fact, I can do without if it so happens that she is not into it and not miss it significantly.

However...

However, my wife was into a significant impact. What is called the thud.

My sweet little spice is into more of the sting sensation. Which is no real problem for me. At least not so long as I don't slip into "the zone." Because I have to consciously think, and be aware, and remember to pull the strike so that it hits the surface area rather than swinging through.

(Not to mention that the height differential is significant enough that if I go into the zone and muscle memory takes over... ouchie. And not the good kind.)

It's a bit easier to work with floggers, lashes, and crops now, versus the paddles and canes of yore. Or even just leftover coils of hemp rope that wasn't needed to bind her.

However, she is particularly enamored of a leather-covered paddle with metal studs. So, it's on me to get that wrist fillip just right and deliver a sting to fire the surface nerves rather than forgetting and delivering the pain to the deeper nerves.

Our safeword probably sounds a little strange to most; "I'm not her!"

Great question, BadAmy! And a fun one!

i think generally overall it's about the same
in a particular situation it depends on what is causing the 'affection'
Okay:)
For implements...
So the sting could be...caning or a belt, or a switch, etc.
A thud could be a fist or thick branch or police baton..etc.

So when being given said affection...

Both hurt. But
I enjoy the thud for its theraputic properties...it resonates deep into my muscle tissue and feels soo damned good:).
The sting, makes me react differently.
The sting makes me want to try and get away as it is really a surface sensation and hurts like a motherfucker.

:)

From the delivery side - for me, it's all about the sting and the lingering after tingle.

Thanks A.
I bolded the part that stuck out.
I never thought about the followthrough, being on the receiving end.
Interesting! :)

A stinging fiberglass rod hurts like heck, for a guy who had a low threshold of pain but likes a little spanking now and again. It hurts worse than a paddle, especially if applied by a ruthlessly hot sex goddess like (I wont mention Her name here). That fiberglass rod hurt worse than even a whip, which was painful- but not even as bad.

So the answer (in order of preference, and inverse order of pain:) Sting, thud, then whap

I love a sting!! I'm not thrilled about thuds, even though they're better than nothing. I think it's because I have really muscular thighs + butt, so, let's just say for example; a paddle, well, it wouldn't be as pleasurable as a belt.

Congrats on your first bdsm thread!

I'm a super fan of thuddy. That deep impact. How it resonates through me.

Sometimes, though, it's about the situation. Hearing Daddy say "on the bed, head down, baby" and THEN hearing his belt unbuckle, the swoosh of his belt coming off, the smack of it against his hand, the anticipation of that smack. Then I'm all for the sting.

I like the symmetrical marks stinging things make. I had this dragon's tail used on my inner thighs because I wasn't paying attention. He had my attention. He laid six hits on each thigh - it was interesting to see the welt grow. And be played with later.

We went to a party and forgot the toy bag. I was disappointed we wouldn't be able to play. Haha! Surprise. He punched and slapped me. Not gut punch like a fight. But thud punches to thighs, hips. Then he'd slap my breasts, face, nipples pussy. The alternating sensations and the feel of his hands on me was crazy weird good.

The belt really is quite lovely.

Thank you Cookiekat!

Thuds are new to me. ❤❤

Thank you all for your input! I sooo appreciate it:) i like learning of your different perspectives! Keep it coming❤

I much prefer thuddy over stingy. But stingy has its place too 😉

Cookie. That’s so hot.

I think there is a similar thread to this... or maybe a Pulpy question.
Anyway. It’s a goodun.

I like a combo. Which to me is a big hand. With impact. He can be thuddy or stingy, depending on the speed, the force and where he is slapping me. Tits are stingy.
Ass is stingy but turns thuddy.
Pussy.
He’s big. His hands are big. He hits hard.

Face. Face is stingy.

Nipple twisting. Bites. The knife. Pull my hair.

All stingy.

A hard, hard, hard throat fuck. Thuddy. God damn.

And being restrained can burn.

I’m a both-Er.

Thuddy, no doubt. I can do stingy for a bit but then I’m yellowing at anything three feet near me.

Sting. I don't know what it is, but I could have the loudest music in my ears and hear nothing else, but as soon as I feel that sensation... drip.

But it's situational. I prefer thuds that come with punishment, and I prefer stings that come with lots of affection and sweet talk.

Congrats on loosing your BDSM thread cherry!

I 'deliver' - prefer to think of it as 'being a giver' ;) - and as such, my preference is two-part. One, to deliver what works best for my partner in scene. Note this isn't necessarily what they WANT, but what works BEST for the scene. Teasing one and only giving the other has a definite place in a teasing, tormenting scene, for instance.

Two, unless it's a pure anticipation scene with tight constraints, I really, really like to surprise my partner as I can. Finding alternative uses for toys makes this second goal much, much easier.

For instance, I've got a nice, heavy thuddy rolled-leather striker. Perfect for making bits move, and shock waves to roll through. What's also fun about it is that it's got a nice long wrist strap, to help keep it from going flying if you get inattentive, right?

Well, it also works pretty well as a stingy singletail type device, if you grab the toy by the rolled leather. Which, if you leave the toys someplace your partner can see what you're grabbing, can be a WONDERFUL surprise - I've gotten some great reactions.

Someone mentioned hands as striking toys - very little thuddier than a skilled hand. Stingy is also quite possible, just a different technique, but IMO there are toys that do stingy better than bare hands. Flexible floggers with many light tails, made of tiny latex hoses or rubber strings or the like comes to mind as near the best at stingy.

Just my 2c
